The joint effort of a yacht sold and managed by 26 North Yachts, built by Outer Reef, with an interior Designed by Destry Darr Designs will be unlike any other Outer Reef to date.  Stay tuned for more progress photos as the final outfitting takes place this summer 2013!

Destry Darr Designs is currently designing a contemporary interior for the 86’ Outer Reef trawler style vessel, “Ti-Punch”. Our Clients desired a more modern interior design and layout that would suit their lifestyle while maintaining the traditional exterior of the trawler style vessel. They demanded a boat that offered everything they would require to navigate oceans comfortably and safely but with flair.  They wanted to be ready to go any time, anywhere.

From the moment we met our Clients, they challenged us to do something different.  From the Aft Deck a large stainless steel framed glass door will lead into the Main Salon which will be surrounded by high gloss walnut set beneath a custom designed overhead soffit of walnut and high gloss laminate. The cabinet doors and window mullions will be detailed with a horizontal and vertical grain pattern while the bar is detailed with strips of ribbed aluminum.  This grain pattern and ribbed aluminum detailing will be repeated in the custom built cocktail table which will include a leather top insert specifically requested by the Owner.  There will be a sofa on the starboard side opposite a large L shaped sofa on the port side.  The Owner is investing in quality ceiling light fixtures and sconces which will add to the contemporary look and value of the boat.

Forward in the Galley there is a high-low wall which divides the Galley from the Pilot House.  This wall will feature a decorative wave pattern in a metal like finish and the Galley cabinets will be done in a contemporary gloss finish acrylic laminate.

The ribbed aluminum detail will be repeated in the Lower Foyer in strips between horizontal panels of high gloss beech with accents of high gloss walnut.  Horizontal panels of material soften some of the walls throughout the Lower Deck Staterooms. There are four staterooms on the Lower Deck with the Master amidships, a Queen VIP forward and Double & Twin Staterooms between.  

The full beam Master Suite is a stylish environment designed for luxury.  This suite features high gloss beech with walnut accents, a sitting area and walk in closet.  The Master Ensuite Head has a double sink, contemporary high gloss laminate cabinetry with stone floors and counter tops.

Our recent trip to the factory to check on the progress of the construction and select stone slabs was very successful.

Our Client’s 86’ Outer Reef “Ti Punch” will offer them a practical seaworthy vessel complimented by an interior with style, comfort, and amenities.
