In an attempt to modernize his schools curriculum, Ozpin introduced a new course for his students to enter if they choose. He called it the AGDRC or otherwise known as the Air to Ground Deployment and Recovery Course.
In it students would learn how to maintain, repair, and pilot the school’s fleet of Bullheads to better prepare them for field work or emergencies should the need arise.
Several teams enter in, thinking it would be a snap. Only one manages to pass the first semester. Team JNPR.
With no other team coming close they become the sole team to learn how to fly Bullheads. Jaune, to everyone’s surprise, was extremely adept at flying. Showing extreme skill in his ability to land and take off in an enclosed areas, make tight turns and other impossible tasks only someone with Aura could accomplish. Pyrrha, also surprising everyone, was quite the grease monkey, capable of performing maintenance and repairs so fast that it would make Ruby jealous. Ren and Nora showed extreme skill at being gunners, capable of hitting a moving target one mile away, flying at three hundred miles an hour, only using their eye sight as references. They become so well tuned to their skills that Ozpin offers them a Bullhead to use for missions.
They dubbed it “The Castle”
During the Breach The Castle Was the first airship on station, eliminating dozens of high class Grimm before they could spread further into the city and offering a massive boost in moral to the police, soldiers and hunter teams already on site.
This proved to be their baptism though fire. Their Bullhead, proving to be a useful tool for the hunter team, underwent massive retrofits. Better engines, better weapons, shields, armor, a small medical station. The works. The Castle would become the flagship of the Beacon Air Fleet and template for future Airships Hunter teams would use.
And when the Fall of Beacon would take place, The Castle would play a huge part in its defense, the rescue of several people, including a wounded Pyrrha Nikos, The redeployment of Hunter teams and stopping the White Fang’s escape by blowing up any Airship that wasn’t Atlas or Vale owned. Dozens of White Fang high profile individuals would die because of this.
Later Team JNPR and The Castle would join Ruby Rose as she journeyed to Haven in search of answers.
