I said some of this on call but. Something I find interesting in this new watch is. How Rosa's mother is very judgemental and never holds anything back and usually in movies this sort of "tough love" where you're overtly mean to your children about their life choices and whatnot, there's like a breaking point where the child is in a low point and the Tough Parent shows their vulnerable side and they make up and reconciliate... And in all about my mother we get this critical moment but. It's not there. There's no big moment that fixes the relationship, it's just this big gap between the child and her mother who in her most vulnerable moment just asks her to not bother her and leave. And the mom loves her and has to leave because she knows she'll only worsen things and can't do anything to help her kid. It's painful
