Hey! So I’m all finished with Not Like This!
Wanted to give you all a little teaser of what’s to come in this 12,600k monster!
“Tom,” you sigh, finding yourself on the roof of your apartment building staring up at the moon, “I miss you.”
“We talked yesterday,” Tom reminds you, “plus I just got out of filming and I’m exhausted,” that’s not necessarily a lie, but he could never get tired of talking to you, exhausted or not, he knows what he wants.
“What’re you doing mate?” You hear Harrison’s muffled voice from somewhere nearby.
“Talking to the moon!” Tom shouts back, leaning against the edge of his trailer and staring up at the almost full moon in the sky above him.
“I’m the moon, now?” You laugh, glancing up at the beautiful creature in the sky above you.
“No,” Tom says teasingly, “I just can hear, what are those, crows? You’re outside, aren’t you?”
“You caught me, I’m on top of my apartment building,” you muse.
“We’re talking to the same moon,” Tom laughs, of course you are, that’s how the world works.
“Right…” you wonder where he’s going with this.
“I guess, even when we’re apart, when we miss each other, we can look up and now that we’re still here, both of us, in the same universe, no matter how twisted the fates might be, we’re here. And that’s the most important thing.”
“I-,” you really shouldn’t be about to confess your love for him over the phone because of some stupid metaphor about the moon, but here you are.
“Tom! Come on, I’m gonna kick your ass at Mario Party!” You hear Harrison shout.
“I’ll be right in!” Tom shouts back, “what were you going to say?”
“I uh, it’s nothing,” you shake your head, you couldn’t tell him, you couldn’t even fathom how the conversation would go.
“We’re not meant to be, I can’t love you.”
Or the worst one of all, the one that would confirm your fear and anxiety about this whole mess of a situation. The one that would absolutely destroy you.
