Noel's bid to block single
[13 Aug 2002] The Sun
NOEL GALLAGHER is trying to stop a love song he wrote for ex-girlfriend SARA MacDONALD being released as a single. The OASIS star has been desperately ringing Sony bosses insisting they halt the track from going on sale next month. She Is Love, from the album Heathen Chemistry, was due to be a double A-side with Little By Little. But now the couple have split up, Noel has changed his mind. It means the single either won't come out or will be reduced to a B-side if it's too late to change production schedules.
On Sunday night, Noel made his live return at New York's Roseland Ballroom after the taxi crash that left him with whiplash, bruising and shock. He hid his heartache over Sara as brother LIAM presented him with flowers.
An Oasis source tells me: "Noel has been trying to stop the record but it looks like it's too late. "He really doesn’t want She Is Love to be a single. "It is a very personal song that he wrote when he was in love. If it is released, it will cause even more pain for her. He doesn’t want that."
Noel and Sara split up last week after their latest massive row, just days before the crash in the US. The pair had been dating for two years.
Noel wrote the song Wonderwall for ex-wife MEG MATHEWS but refused to play it again after they split up.
