"Remember that day at the reserve, when we looked at the stars for hours?" he asked in a faint voice, his eyes turned to the cloudy sky outside the window.
Theo tightened his grip on the steering wheel, a wave of nostalgia washing over him “it’s been a long time”
“But… do you remember?”
Theo sensed all the uncertainty in that question, a vulnerability he hadn’t seen since they’d broken up.
“Yes,” he nodded, his jaw clenched “yes, I remember.”
Liam sighed, a phantom tension that seemed to leave him "me too."
It wasn't far to his house, maybe 10 minutes, and Theo couldn't ignore the feeling that everything was slipping through his fingers. Again.
"What else do you remember?"
Liam and Theo met for the first time after breaking up. Things don't go exactly as planned.
