I love that trying to convince my father that I am competent and knowledgeable about how to feed my horse is more difficult than teaching camp children. I have a fussy OTTB gelding that doesn’t like stalky, coarse hay, which makes up the majority of the round bales we keep (which is fine for the other two), so I’ve been feeding him alfalfa pellets (which he likes) but convincing my parents that he does actually need them is like pulling teeth. They also got behind on his deworming schedule and I’m pretty sure that has to do with why he was losing weight this spring. My mother is a little better but dad is being such a pain about it.
