Najée motioned out to the side with his hand. "So, what did you want to show me, Devi?"

Devan smiled and answered while looking up at the sky, "While you guys were out doing missions, I stayed here and thought about everything you all told me about. Especially about flying." Naj cocked his head, listening as she continued, "Even when Blitz pushed me off of the building, I knew it was for a purpose and not just because of him being mean."

Najée nodded. He was certainly intrigued and was wanting deeply to know what she was going to show.

"You guys all showed me what an honor it is to be a eros and also showed me that in order to bring my power out to its full potential, I have to be brave and get out there and do it. So…"

Devan backed up a bit and after smiling softly at Najée, closed her eyes and concentrated. Najeè looked at her and noticed the white tips of her wings coming out slowly. He then knew what was happening. She was going to show him how well she could fly.

When the small wings finally were out and erect-the glittering white aura surrounding them giving Najée a sight he would never forget, he started to step toward her before she said "No! Please, let me show you first."

"Ok."

Devan took a small breath and then pushing down on her feet, she jumped up and her wings immediately went to work, keeping her hovering over the stone roof of the building. Najée smiled wide. He knew how hard it was for her to do that, knowing that was the reason of the sweat pouring down her face. But nonetheless, he was proud of the underling and when she looked down at him for approval, he motioned her back down, holding his arms out.

Devan tried to lower herself down, but her stamina quickly went out and she practically fell into Najée's arms. Najée caught her effortlessly and stood her now weakened body up, fixing her lowered wings. Devan looked up at him, wanting to know how she did. He could only tell her the truth

"Devi, I'm so proud of you. You have tried so hard, baby. Wonderful job."

Devan chuckled lightly and gripped on to his arms for support. "I tried my best…even when I was scared. I wanted to show you-all of you, that I can…do this."

Najée stared down into the soft depths of Devan's eyes-the intense feeling of care and protection that he had for her running like rapids in his veins. His own wings-double or even triple the size of hers- came out silently, wrapping their soft feathers around both of them. Devan kept staring and then hugged Najée tightly. Naj smiled, kissing her forehead. "I know. I never had a doubt that you would learn, sweetheart. You have a desire to show people what you are made of." Devan nodded as Najée then said "Someday, your wingspan will be as wide as mine, Devan. Believe that."

Devan nodded, hugging tight still. "I will. With you and everybody else. There is no other place I want to be."
