People have theorized that Mai is a closet Lesbian due to her relationship with her previous boyfriend not working out. Not that I'm outright disagreeing at all, though I feel that Mai wasn't the only one who sapphic-coded in Otona and this one hasn't been quite talked about from what I've saw. You know who else gives those vibes?

She got over her crush on Coco, that a common thing for closeted people (getting over their crushes on the opposite gender, only finding out that their Gay later on in their lives).
Her and Karen have a very close bond, even though this can also be interpreted as platonic or a sister-like relationship.
She's always gave me Gay vibes just overall, even when I was younger lol
I've always known that there was always going to be a slim possibility that Precure will have openly/confirmed LGBTQ rep in show (even in a spinoff aimed for older fans), but it still would've been nice imo. And if there was anyone in Yes! Precure 5 that I've would've expected to be confirmed Queer, it's Kurumi (and maybe Rin and Karen too lol)
