Seems rather late in but it I believe we were finally about to delve into Cure Muse, silver lining, at least it wasn't during the last stretch. Hope this wait was worth it.

EP 35

Geez, getting it from all angles in the first five mins of this ep, barely five mins in and already need a break from the amount of tension they've built up.

He's done it again! How'd he get there so fast!? Otokichi being an A tier mystery.

The weird oxymoron that Mephisto is. He's been shown to be quite a solid threat and yet, the whole act is still very much comic relief??? The fact he's so present this early, does give away there's some one behind him, however, he just turned his Negatone into the pied piper of note collecting; that's a smart move.

A team transformation leading into an ad break o.O well that's a first, what a place to cut it. (So... did they just ruin their secret identities, transforming in the middle of that sorrowful crowd like that?)

Ok, seriously... those three are just pulling attacks out of thin air at this point ¬.¬

And the penny drops.

Well darn, it is all going on in this ep isn't it. The Precure figuring out why and what they are fighting for, to Mephisto pulling out all the tricks by stealing the notes back again and turning himself into a Negatone fusion. (Again with the big boss size difference though, Precure like a trope it seems.)

Called it! As well as confirming he is being controlled by something else, all in one scene. (No one going to question the height difference between black and yellow Muse?)

Crumbs, that was a heavy episode with a lot going on. Darn Suite, you still have over 10 eps left to play with.

EP 36

And intro has snippets of the Suite Precure movie in, (I presume) I forgot that use to be a thing.

XD Clark Kent is proven right once more or Ako part of the Superman's disguise 101; not recognising her because she was wearing glasses. So Cure Muse, is just basically her traditional Princess form before she ran away and she cut her hair to disguise herself.

Dangit Otokichi! I figured he was connected to Major land somehow but wasn't quite expecting like that. (Suite has turned into one heck of a family drama.)

Still doesn't explain the height difference or age difference really of the pair but all things considered, I suppose its a sorta valid reasoning.

Now, if Mephisto falls first, what happens to those three? And who were those three originally? The warriors they briefly mentioned before but still know near to nothing about?

Legit, that's a lot of weight and pressure for an 8(?) year old to carry but Melody with the surprising mature moment. (Not sure why but these sort of moments feel out of character for her still? Hibiki hasn't really had any events to warrant this sudden change?)

(I've seen something like that bird in something else and once again, I can't put my finger on what >.<)

But that wrapped up rather quickly, for all its emotional build up, I was expecting a bit more from the pair.

This however o.O? egads... didn't see the pink one stepping up but I suppose at the same time, he's the only one who hasn't thus far but that's still quite a step up!?

And our big bad has a name...Noise...it fits with the theme, not sure if its a good or bad name though?

Bottom line though, Suite Precure is like 75%, a long drawn out family drama piece.

EP 37

Always a double take that you potentially miss-clicked something when an ep actually starts with the intro. Still the movie preview by the looks of it but no Muse in the group shot yet?

Those Power-ups, look aquatic, they would have been good designs for new, unwilling Tropical henchmen. The fossil is active o.O how is the fossil active?

Wait... that means Muse's Precure attack is just a family inherited trick instead? So, her attack is something else? (You can see the resemblance between Otokichi and Aphrodite better now.)

Oh, the pipe organ as well is getting an explanation, which Otokichi knew what was going on from the beginning but as this is Precure, those saintly notes probably won't do that much.

Yay for a rather out of season Halloween ep! Usually a bit of fun!

Didn't take Ako long to get involved with it and its a good nod back to Seiren's origins or a bittersweet one because she's lost the ability to change back? Falsetto is suddenly a lot deeper when he speaks compared to before, now that he's big bad evil???

Error! Stock footage for later! Ako has no glasses in this ep! (A group transformation already but no where to be seen in the intro/outro yet?) Now that's quite a dynamic, final group pose!

You can't call your attack Shining circle, when you've very clearly marked out a pentagram like star -.-''

All in all, that worked out really well. Ako's angle is now about learning to open up, be honest and working with others, that she's not alone anymore in her mission. The previous three have all gained a little sister and is actually a fitting dynamic and ties into an early disagreement with Kanade, as she's the only one with a sibling and others being jealous of her because of it. Souta being smitten with Princess Ako was sweet.

Suite Precure Review!

Let's be honest now, the first dozen episodes of Suite are hell, torturous, patience testing, aggravating hell! It would be understandable why many would drop it because sitting through Hibiki and Kanade's petty, pointless bickering is not fun. I understand what they were going for but there were better ways to go about it.

However, you make it pass those first dozen eps and get into double figures, you shall be rewarded with a really good and mostly solid series.

Yes, Muse officially joins way too late, that her story is practically told through the external cast, rather than herself, Beat while a decent redemption, I feel they completely dropped the ball on the initial turn, it makes no sense when paired with the ep prior. Meanwhile, Hibiki and Kanade are great contrasts to each other, from mannerisms to Precure styles and they do get better as the series goes on. The team building and dynamics is pretty solid on the whole to.

While Minor land is nothing to write home about, seriously the lot are a joke at the start, it was actually worrying to think they were the overall series villain but once Mephisto is out the picture and the real big bad steps up, you see a whole other, more credible, relentless side to them... aside Bassdrum and Baritone don't really improve much though.

Aside the bickering, that may be the biggest gripe with Suite, it isn't as glaring as Tropical Rouge but it takes a sharp turn with just about everything and none more obvious than Hibiki and the villains. It's as if they realised their error and wanted to correct it before the second half while they still had time.

And while I did like Noise as an End Boss... the fact his whole angle just reminded me of 01's Apocalyamon to the letter, it kind of downgraded him a little. Being voice by Freiza though was funny.

Minamino Kanade/ Cure Rhythm

Inching a head, Kanade was the better of the two by the simple fact she felt less petty of the two. I'm not really sure what it is, I just liked Kanade more, I think maybe it's because she does stumble, she has moments she feels inadequate or not on par with Melody and has to over come them and usually earns something by doing so. Overall, she just becomes a better big sister and is that supportive shoulder to cry on or just hear you out. Her constant crushing on Ouji though was annoying, the two scarcely interacted for it to mean anything, it felt more like following the crowd than being some one she was genuinely into.

˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ Shirabe Ako/ Masked Cure/ Cure Muse

As much as I would like to, Muse just arrived too late to warrant being the top of the list. I do find it odd though, that the Masked Cure alter ego actually feels more powerful than Cure Muse does at times. Ako at the start, yes, she's a brat who needs to lighten up, come the second half, you realise why she is the way she is and you can't help but feel sorry for her. Ako is what, 8/9, she has a mountain of pressure on her shoulders and she's been through more than some will in a life time, it's no wonder she's always on the defensive with people but she's still pushing forward. Unfortunately by being so late, her story was told via everyone else, rather than shown through Ako.

Hibiki Houjou/Cure Melody

Hibiki was fine to start with but then she started taking moments away that were clearly more suited for other members of the team, why she saved Fari over Rhythm despite Fari being Rhythm's partner is a mystery and just gradually taking more and more of that centre stage spotlight. I also have no idea where this super perceptive and wise nature of hers spawned from, it is the complete opposite of the Hibiki from ep one and nothing major happened in between to warrant it, just a mid way 180 in her personality.

Siren/ Kurokawa Ellen /Cure Beat

As far as redemption goes, it is alright, she gets her comeuppance by losing the ability to transform, which I think hits her the worst than anything else she ends up going through but the whole switch was glaringly awkward. Just the ep before, Siren was talking to Mephisto asking for more power to be more evil, next ep, hang on, no, I want to be friends with Hummy more again, poof, job done ??? Hibiki and Kanade forgave and trusted her way too easily to, this girl had betrayed your trust, backstabbed you and left you second guessing yourself on multiple occasions and you're all just going, she's a Cure, she's fine, she has to be our friend right!

I just don't think it is as good as the pedestal people seem to put it on.

Fairy Tones

I am actually disappointed that we didn't get more B plots at least, showing off the antics of these lil guys, especially as a group, they were quite fun; it's a pity they didn't get more time to shine. Yet, they can all combine together to make another temporary Crescendo Tone? Why, at no point, in that super, super long finale, did anyone not consider combining the power of two Crescendo Tone, even if one would have been weaker, to try and counter/combat Noise?

Hummy

Marmite doesn't sound like the right description but Hummy constantly yo-yo'ed from pointless to useful to daft to plot important. On the other hand, I will give Hummy this, she feels like the fairy partner that crawled so future ones could run, when it comes to having a hand or role in the final battle/ finale as a whole. I can't put my finger on it but Hummy just didn't agree with me.

✨Otokichi Egads, this guy, this initial background figure that gradually became more prominent over time was the biggest intrigue and mystery of this entire series for so long and they did it so well! While in the end, he was so effortlessly woven into the thick of plot!

Best:

Falsetto Beware the jovial or quiet ones! Crumbs was I not expecting him to become so competent and ruthless once he stepped up but he surprisingly had it all. Falsetto was a trickster, he was smart at how he attacked the Precure, efficient he had no qualms crossing lines of just flat out abusing Bassdrum and Baritone treating them as minions of his own or threatening others to get what he wanted and he had a decent success rate. Only real question is, why was he so devoted to Noise more than the others?

Worst:

Bassdrum I can't exactly say Mephisto because those few times he stepped up, he gave a credible beatdown even if he didn't look the part. Bassdrum how ever, his antics just got annoying and boring. The constant demand to be leader, constantly trying to one up everyone else, even when powered up, even when Mephisto was out the scene, his behaviour and attitude didn't change at all and forty odd eps is a long time to be putting up with it.

Egads this series just had them coming out the woodwork @.@ I've honestly lost count how many between the four of them but it has to be the biggest total out of any series in the franchise! Even if some are just going from double - triple - group attack versions. ( ._. )"" I genuinely can't remember them all... On the plus side, they used this vast catalogue of theirs through out the entire show.

Cure Muse - Rainbow Piano if it counts? It was versatile and unique but appeared to be a family inherited trick as Otokichi pulled it off as well. Muse's personal special move.

WED - Suite Precure - EP 47- 48

In contrast, here's a Finale that probably could have ended last ep... I don't disapprove of longer EB time, give the conclusion some time to actually breathe and get build up but we've just been going in circles and we could have easily spared a couple of eps with the girls again, I don't think any of them actually had the usual character final ep, despite Muse only being here five mins at this point. Regardless, let's see what they think of to fill the last two?

EP 47

Can't be that hard when you can lock into sound and those four talking are probably the only sound around... However, Noise welcomes this ep ironically with a snazzy theme of his own.

Also, Hummy is still here, she's been pretty easy to forget as of late, with nothing to do and very little screen time or lines.

The script is slightly different but the gist is the same, Noise is really starting to remind me of Apocalymon from 01.

>.< Seriously, there is no explanation or event that allowed Hibiki to learn or adapt to be so emotionally mature or perceptive, about three quarters of the way through, they 180'd half her character. Hibiki showed no signs of any of this in the first half. If anything, this should be Ako's angle.

But, darn, that's quite an EB take and Hummy with the unexpected big power play move.

It's almost impressive, just how many times Precure can give this same speech but just thematically changed to fit into the show accordingly.

Bonus point for having a whole team transformation and not singling out the Pink/Lead only.

That's a curious wrap up, perhaps more unique, the defeat and save Noise, it looks like, the guy was still glittery dusted but they reached him and got through to him as had did smile in the end. (With a conclusion that is giving me bad Arc-V flashbacks...)

Also, all the other Fairy Tones could combine temporarily to create a whole new Crescendo Tone...suppose it makes sense if they all came from the original to start with.

Not quite a successful final ep preview this time though, considering how they closed the ep -.-'' the one character who shouldn't have been seen was Hummy but there she was slap, bang and centre, barely ten seconds in.

EP 48

Credit where it is due, Hummy for the save and a fairy mascot that's more than just a transformation item but constructively useful, with out the Precure. Not only did Hummy protect the tone, she managed to change back all the notes and collect them all back to make the melody of happiness once again. (Why does it feel like Hummy may have started the path of fairy mascots having roles in the final battle?)

Poor Otokichi, no big welcome back greeting for him, just casually discarded in the throne room, all on his own. Heck, even Baritone, Bassdrum and Falsetto jumped each other and then Seiren.

XD That's it, just park it back up, as you do when you make your own little floating islands. At least they returned it.

An interesting conclusion choice but satisfying, with the general underlying core message of the Precure franchise, this could be easily overlooked or seen as a bad thing. It's almost like a daily reminder that it isn't, it is still natural to feel sad sometimes.

And these pair still have a role, if you can call it that, weren't they watching over them before? While this time, they come to terms with the idea that Noise is actually essential.

Would you look at that, Ako learned to be more social; imagine it's a lot easier when you don't need your guard up all the time. I assume that Pii-chan/Noise has become her pet bird?

Just about everyone whose anyone cameo's in the closing segment in some way or other. The Fairy Tones are still around, so Suite ends with everyone still able to become Precure still.

Considering we still have five eps left and so much has already happened, I'm wondering if perhaps they kicked off the finale a bit too early? Just what are they going to fill it with, you can't throw in finale character eps now, it'd feel weird and out of place, never mind a real kicker to the pacing.

EP 44 These Xmas eps in the finale though keep throwing me off >.<

It only took all series but didn't Noise damage them when he first appeared, tried to kill the poor guy with it? Although... apparently not because Noise appears and attacks it again?

Noise got a growth spurt, just when you thought they were running out of things to do. Some one go and point out the difference... aside that Suite came a fair bit later on this occasion.

Seriously, there's still four more eps to go!

Noise speaks and it's instantly recognisable! It's freaking Freiza from DBZ (Cooler to) and for an actual Shinzo tie in for once, he's also Gyasa.

Villains play fair, transform, don't transform, you'll be beat into the ground regardless. Geez Otokichi has more lives than a darn cat.

The power of words or just creating honest emotional connections? Fairy tones wasting no time though.

Nevermind the girls unlocking their powers again, Otokichi is completely overshadowing them here! ( ˶°ㅁ°) !! Seriously old man, how many more tricks do you have up your sleeve!?

Now, the big question is, what is the word for when loads is going on and yet the time is dragging? How was this ep such a slog to get through with all that was happening?

EP 45 And we literally start this ep with a two and half minute recap of what happened in the last one... I guess that's one way to pad out the time slot.

Speaking of not quite dead people, what's he still doing alive? Ako made the comment before or is it a case that he's still fighting the negative energy he absorbed?

How everyone like to start their morning, the big bad from legend outside their window. Noise is fully resurrected now, why is he keeping Falsetto around and what happened to the other two? They were still minions under his control? XD Noise even told him to shut up.

It's not a lot but at least its something, which is a lot more than most in her position ever seem to do. Even Hummy is being productive, how long has she had this trick up her sleeve? (He said bodyguard though afterwards and I thought he meant Hummy and was so confused.)

Noise is holding a lot of grudges and it turns out the Crescendo Tone isn't the birth of all notes, it's apparently the actual fairy of music, so Noise's opposite. I'll give Suite this though, by having Noise show up as early as he has, the EB is actually getting some personality and motive. (When you stop and think about it though, that is a really ironic name considering the theme of the show and his goal).

Clearly this trait is inheritory; some serious guts on this girl. The ultimate pipe organ melody he says, plays the same song he's been playing on and off for the last 30 or so eps. (ᵕ—ᴗ—) You would think they would have shaken it up a little by now.

Oh, so it is coming into play; I thought he had just cleared the book so they couldn't reuse the notes for the melody of happiness but nope, turns out it had a bigger plot point to it.

And good grief, how many times is that organ going to look like it's been destroyed, only to be used again a few scenes or an ep later ¬.¬ Are we definitely sure this time?

Ako/Muse is only nine! Freaking nine and has been through enough for two lifetimes, never mind one. How much trauma is that kid going to through? Her Dad, her Mum, her lifestyle, her kingdom, her second home and now even her Grandpa, this girl can not catch a break.

૮₍˶Ó﹏Ò ⑅₎ა Yeah... that is not helping, that's a cruel fate right there.

Suite Precure, just casually allowing you to increase the number of people used in an attack.

It's all going on again, Falsetto intercepts to save Noise before running off with him, Crescendo Tone then intercepts to save the Precure, only to get sealed away to. All these characters actually falling in battle certainly helps give this EB showdown some weight.

And look who shows up at the end of EP 45. (A bit early isn't it? The Preview states the next ep is the last battle but there's still two more after that ???)

(๑﹏๑//) Suite just what are you doing!?

EP 46 Wasting no time with this one though, straight into the intro.

And there goes Falsetto, absorbed by the EB for some quick and easy heals. Now Noise has said what his goal is but what happens after that? What's he going to do once its achieved? He'd be the only one properly living in it?

XD Famous last words, he's taken lots of damage, we'll be fine as the guy comes crashing through the wall perfectly fine.

Suite running through the attack catalogue, that's another plus for it, even this late in, the earlier moves are still seeing use and are not just replaced and forgotten.

Apparently that's just going to be his thing now, taunt, distract and snatch. Oh, they are a live, I honestly couldn't remember what state those two were in with all the constant back and forth that had been happening with them. To once again, like with Crescendo Tone, be swapped out and taken in the Precure's place.

(,,•᷄‎ࡇ•᷅ ,,)? Come on, seriously how are any of these attacks working? All the animations show the Fairy Tones with them but we know they aren't with them because they are with Hummy who is trying to get to them? Whose done the screw up here, the writers or the animators?

It's an evil Ravemon! That or the Baron from Ultimate Muscle? (It's Noise with a new form and while I couldn't stop seeing the REBD before, this doesn't exactly look threatening or dangerous either?) But lol at him using their own words against them as he beats them up.

And in their darkest moments the Fairy Tones start playing Twinkle Twinkle off themselves , however, what do you mean mysterious are you telling me none of these girls have heard Twinkle Twinkle little star before? One of the most common of children's nursery tunes... the heck! (｡· v ·｡) ?

And now the Smile preview is at the end of the ep before the credits even roll out? Why?
