House of 1000 corpses: I loved it. It was a great balance of comedy and horror, the editing and effects were great, it truly felt like a unique piece of media. I also loved how cartoonish the characters are. Spalding is a commercial advertiser, Baby is ditzy, Tiny is ironically named, Otis has typical chucklefuck name for a chucklefuck character, R.J left little impression on me, and Momma Firefly was sexy mom. Despite their horrific actions (Looking mostly at you, Otis. Jesus fucking christ) I found connection to the characters and thought it was twistedly delightful!

Devils Rejects: TOOTY FUCKIN' FROOTY! A but less horror focussed (this is a pattern), still fun as a sort of action, gore rampage adventure while dealing with some guy who wants to kill them. Short and sweet and very fun ending with Baby's chase.

3 From Hell: A good campy road trip action movie. It would not have worked with any characters (the first 2 movies established the Fireflies as nutcases and prepped us for this storyline) unlike what some people say. While definitely not horror focussed at all, i think it was entertaining and fun to watch. I acknowledge that Baby wearing the headress was absolutely cultural apropriation, for a movie franchise of people trapping, killing, and doing god knows what else to people, it didnt feel out of character for Baby to take on a sort of stereotypical "natural badass warrior" attitude during her arc. Otis is still Otis in the end, and I fear him greatly, and I dont give a fuck about Wolfman or whatever his name was. The campy sibling dynamic was fun, and seeing Baby grow and develop more of her twisted personality was fun!

I like the idea that they’re the same breed of cat but are vastly different in appearance due to their treatment:

Otis (actually sounds like a great name for a cat) I must say takes inspiration from my old childhood cat (he was called Snowy. Very original, I know). He was a rough and tumble Persian cat who, due to abuse he experienced as a kitten, was quite hostile and very independent. I loved him regardless and suffered the scratchy consequences regularly.
