How to File Online PF Transfer Request?
Transferring your EPF money online
Employee when switch jobs, prefer to open for new EPF account instead of transferring his current EPF account without knowing that he is losing interest which he could have earned on the consolidated amount by transferring balance of his old account to new account. This practice also levy burden on the department. So to solve this problem EPFO took it’s highly anticipated move by launching the Online Transfer Claim Portal (OTCP) to make sure timely and hassle free transfer of EPF money from your one account to another account online (Note: offline mode also remains available)
Process Flow for Filing of Online PF Transfer Claims
1. Employer Digital Signature
In order to start transfer process it’s important that either your past or present employer have their digital signatures registered with EPFO. That’s because they will need to verify claim papers online by digitally signing it off. You can check it by visiting http://www.epfindia.com and click on the OTCP that shows under “for employees” section. If you are eligible you will need to first register yourself online on the member portal before filing up the transfer claim also known as the Form 13.
2. Quick Eligibility Check
Hop onto http://memberclaims.epfoservices.in/check_eligibility.php, fill up details of your previous and current PF accounts details and click on the “Check Eligibility” button.
There may be chances of changes in your employer PF codes, which you can trace at http://search.epfoservices.in/estt_search/est_search.php.
3. Registering on EPFO Members Portal
If you are eligible to file online PF transfer claim, then the next step would be registering yourself on the EPFO portal at http://members.epfoservices.in/
In case you are already registered then just log-in to File Online Transfer Claim Application link.
4. Filing Transfer Claim aka Form 13
Once you are successfully logged into OTCP, hover on CLAIM tab and select “Request for Transfer of Account” option. Form 13 will pop up on your screen which consists of three parts:
Part A: Personal Information
Part B: Previous PF Account Information
Part C: Current PF Account Information
After filling all the required information, you can see the application by hitting “Preview” button. In case you found any discrepancies, you can also edit on this window by clicking on edit button else you can just type the characters shown in the text box and click on “GET PIN”. Remember you have to agree to the declaration mentioned in the form by clicking the select button “I Agree”. The PIN received on the registered mobile is to be entered and thereafter the online claim application can be submitted.
5. Printing Out and Submitting to Employer
Again hover on the CLAIM tab and select View Status of the Transfer Claim to take the printout of the printable PDF file of filled Form 13. You are required to sign it and submit it to the employer who you have chosen in the first step of digital signature to complete the submission process. If both are registered you could choose either for attestation, but choosing your previous employer means a faster settlement.
Gather all the necessary information before sitting for filing online PF transfer claim such as EPF details of your previous and current account, date of joining and leaving the previous employer, date of joining current employer and banks IFSC Code.
Remember: In case you fail in filling correct information in three subsequent attempts, you will be barred for few days. So fill every detail very carefully and after double check.
Checking Status or Filing grievances
You can check the status of your transfer claim by visiting http://epfoservices.in/homepage_claim_status_new.php. In case you have any grievance against PF department, just spit it out at http://epfigms.gov.in/.
