I see your sentence starts with the letter H, which is also the first letter of Hayato's name, so I can only assume what you truly want is for me to talk about him. So true!

I have recently decided that Hayato likes the sunlight and likes lying down in it like cats do. Obviously he doesn't sleep like a cat pose-wise, although that is a really funny mental image, but he just likes it when it's sunny. He always gets his daily dose of vitamin D :D

In general I just associate Hayato a lot with the Sun. For starters the Sun is the main symbol/motif of the cult (name still a WIP but my options are all based on words related to the Sun), and I think Hayato in particular fits it. Consider: he's not the leader of the cult, but he is a "prince" of sorts, and he's pretty much tied with said leader for the most important figure in it. And he's also a "flashier" figure so to speak. In other words he's the flashier centre of attention (against his will but still) in the cult, so I think you could say he's like their Sun? He also serves the purpose of representing and reinforcing the message of the cult, he's a constant reminder of why all the people and grims in it have joined, so you could also say he's one of the pieces keeping the cult together and sort of sustaining it. Blah blah blah. He's the Sun. This is also why the symbol of the cult is literally the symbol of the Sun, a.k.a. a circle with a dot in the centre, which has also been branded onto Hayato's neck as you can see in his ref sheet and in this doodle here:

Also, speaking of the marking, I have considered many other different locations for it. My other option was putting it on the middle of his chest or collarbone, but ultimately I went with the side of the neck because it just seems to me like a more "appropriate" place for a branded mark like this? I think it was just me being very influenced by the ID numbers on the characters' necks in The Promised Neverland though. I might still end up changing the placement of Hayato's mark either way, but the design is set in stone. Unless I also decide to change that lmao (but probably not)

Speaking of the mark, and of marks on Hayato's body in general, yes that's A Sentence but stay with me, I imagine he has some burn scars and he would sooner kill himself than show them to someone else. Partly because he has very intense negative feelings about them, and partly because one would wonder how he got such severe scars and what the fuck happened, basically. Because of this, Hayato avoids the Medical & Scientific Dpt like the plague. He's constantly skipping the check-ups and refuses to see a nurse or medic no matter how injured he is after a mission. Whenever he can, he just uses his powers to cauterize his wounds and takes care of the rest with a first-aid kit. I've said before that Theo is annoyed by him because he never listens to him, but the main reason why he gets so aggravated about Hayato is because he's always avoiding medical attention and Theo knows that's 1. not normal and 2. not healthy, so he gets on his case whenever he has the opportunity

TLDR is you will never catch Hayato not wearing a shirt, which is a good excuse for me to not draw him shirtless, because aside from his scars and trauma, I'm also really bad at male anatomy
