Background: Orieon is the son of Eva and the Tallest Red, and the youngest of his litter. Though his unusual height often makes others assume heâs the oldest. Despite technically being the ârunt,â he never fit the stereotype; his confidence, resilience, and presence made it clear from an early age that there was nothing small about him. Eva spoiled him when he and his siblings were young, and he grew into an affectionate and clingy child who depended deeply on her warmth and reassurance. Orieon is affectionate and protective toward the people he loves, but he struggles with insecurity when compared to his father. He wants to prove his worth.
Orieon is a dreamer with a hopeful vision of the future, one where everyone can thrive. However, many aliens view him with distrust because his appearance reminds them of his father. He and his siblings were unregistered and unexpected births, and Eva kept them hidden during their early childhood after rumors spread through the refugee camp that she had become pregnant to gain expedited residency status. Under Neutralien policy, no pregnant refugee can be turned away, regardless of species.
A fact many resented her for. Orieonâs growth didnât begin until his second week of life, when he suddenly began to develop rapidly. Though he appears fully Irken, part of his mindset reflects his Vortian heritage. During the period Eva kept her children secluded, his littermates were his only companions. With little else to do, they spent their time play-fighting, seeking attention, and competing for Evaâs affection.
He became fascinated with genetic engineering after learning from his father that the Irken race is born and raised in cloning facilities. Orieon dreams of working in that field â as well as becoming an Air Force pilot in the Neutralien military. His talent showed early when, as a child, he nearly flew off with a Neutralien spacecraft. He was scolded by Eva but quietly praised by the officer who returned him home. Orieon takes pride in both his Irken and Vortian bloodlines, as well as Neutralien culture. He immerses himself in history, heritage, and technology, believing knowledge is essential to shaping the future.
Eva: Orieon loves his mother deeply and would do anything to make her proud. As a baby, he was the one who clung closest to her, rarely leaving her side. When he feels discouraged, Eva is always the one who comforts him.
His greatest fear is losing her. A fear that nearly became reality when Neutralien authorities detained her for harboring a fugitive. The threat of Eva being imprisoned and deported and her children being placed into the system, left a lasting scar on him. Orieon is fiercely defensive of her.
Tallest Red: Meeting his father shattered the heroic image Orieon had grown up believing. Eva had spared her children the truth, telling them stories of a brave leader and admired commander. Instead, Red revealed himself as a ruthless conqueror and confirmed everything Eva had been trying to protect them from. Seeing their similarities unsettled Orieon. Where Jovian sought Redâs approval, Orieon recoiled, disgusted by the idea of becoming anything like him. Their conflict escalated until Eva was forced to intervene, injuring herself in the process. The only thing they share is a fierce protectiveness over her. Something Red is still struggling to understand.
Bellatrix: Bellatrix reminds Orieon of their mother, calm, grounded, and protective. The two are emotional anchors for one another. They excelled together in Neutralien education programs and earned the highest academic scores among the refugee students. Bellatrix also secretly helps Orieon study Vortian, the only sibling aware that he struggles reading it.
She is the voice of reason when tensions rise, especially between the brothers, and Orieon deeply admires her strength.
Jovian: Jovian is arrogant, self-centered, and impulsive and Orieon teases him constantly. Their arguments frequently turn physical, especially after Orieon once mocked Jovian for being smaller and accused him of craving their fatherâs approval. Despite the rivalry, they share common ground in technology, science, heritage, and their mother. They are opposites in temperament, but alike where it matters.
Dib: At first, Dib unsettled Orieon. A strange human using outdated technology and speaking Irken fluently. Over time, Orieon realized Dib feared him only because he resembled Red. Once Dib understood the boy wasnât like his father, the two bonded. Dib told Orieon about Earth, the Massive, and the conflict against the Irken Empire. Before leaving with Zim, he gave Orieon a communication address to stay in contact.
Zim: Initially wary of Zim due to his reputation, Orieon soon discovered a misunderstood defective rather than a villain. Zim taught him to read and speak Irken, shared Irken cultural knowledge, and gifted each sibling an Irken tablet. Orieon doesnât ignore Zimâs past actions but he respects the effort he makes.
Zora: As a child, Orieon snuck out one night and wandered into the open fields, where he met Zora , a gentle Neutralien girl who didnât fear him. They chased glowing night insects together beneath luminous blue light. She was his first crush, and he still keeps their friendship hidden. Now studying medicine, Zora remains in touch through calls and treasures every message.

âJust admit it. youâre jealous because Mom gives me more love than you, Jovian.â
âStop projecting yourself onto me! You may be my father but Iâm NOTHING like you.â
âAncient texts like these must be preserved. Who would want to forget how their species came to be?â
âBellaâŚ.I envy you. No one calls you a half-breed. Jovian and I canât even walk to a vending machine without someone threatening us for looking Irken.â
âI want to change the world, even if Iâm only ten. This planet needs a future, and it needs people willing to defend it.â
âIs the pak really installed through the spine? It feels like my back is splitting in half!â
âMomâŚ.tell me about Dad. Does he look like us? Is he Irken or Vortian?â
âYou act like I donât matter. But I do. My father is someone you donât want to cross, so choose wisely whose side youâre on.â
He doesnât just want to succeed.
He wants to prove that a child born from conflict can still build peace. His curiosity fuels him more than pride or ego. He studies technology, cloning sciences, history, and military strategy because he believes knowledge gives him control over his future something he lacked as a child in hiding. He may seem confident, but much of that comes from trying not to look weak in front of others.

Scene â Orieon & Bellatrix (Quiet Comfort)
The library wing of the Neutralien learning center was dim and quiet, lit only by pale-blue wall lamps and the soft glow of Bellatrixâs tablet screen. Orieon sat across from her, chin resting on his folded arms, antennae drooping as the Vortian text blurred in front of him.
âIâm never gonna get this,â he muttered, the frustration cracking through his voice. âThese symbols look like someone threw noodles at a wall and called it a language.â
Bellatrix didnât laugh â she never did when he was this tense. Instead, she slid her chair beside him, their shoulders lightly touching.
âThat one,â she said gently, tapping the page, âisnât pronounced the way it looks. It flows together â see? Think of it like⌠breathing out slowly.â He tried again. The sound came out clumsy, and his face flushed.
âOrieon,â she said softly, âyouâre not bad at this. You just get scared the moment it feels hard.â He swallowed.
âI donât want people thinking Iâm dumb because IâmâŚ.mixed.â
âThey already decided who you are the moment they saw your face. So prove them wrong by becoming more than they expect.â
Scene â Orieon & Jovian (Fight â and Unspoken Care)
The kitchen was quiet until the argument shattered it.
âYou think youâre better than everyone just because youâre taller now!â Jovian snapped, voice sharp as glass. Orieonâs fists curled.
âI didnât ask to be this tall!â
âYeah well I didnât ask to be overshadowed by you,â Jovian shot back. âOr for everyone to think youâre Redâs favorite copy.â
âIâm nothing like him.â
âKeep saying that,â Jovian sneered, âmaybe one day youâll believe it.â
The shove came before either of them realized it happened, bodies slamming into the table, chairs skidding across the floor. Jovian grabbed his sleeve.Orieon shoved back harder.
Their breathing grew ragged. The anger wasnât anger anymore. It was fear and shame and hurt and years of resentment. Two boys who looked more like children than rivals.
Jovian was the first to speak.
ââŚYou know I donât really hate you, right?â
âI know.âSilence hung between them.
âIf anyone tries to hurt Mom⌠Iâll crush them.â
Scene â Orieon & Nixy (Tech Lab Mischief)
The workroom smelled like wiring and coolant. Screens flickered with schematics, and scraps of metal were scattered across the bench like puzzle pieces. Nixy sat cross-legged on the counter, tools hovering in neat little clusters around her â organized chaos. Orieon stood stiffly while she adjusted the translator module in his pak.
âHold still,â she warned.
âI am holding still,â he hissed through his teeth. âYouâre the one drilling into my spine.â
âItâs not drilling,â she corrected calmly. âItâs precision-guided integration.â He flinched.
âMaybe next time you wonât âaccidentallyâ overload your translator trying to make it play music through your neural interface.â
âIt was for science.â
âIt was for dubstep.â She tightened the last connection and the sharp, invasive sensation faded into a low hum.Orieon exhaled.
ââŚThanks.â Nixy blinked in surprise.
âYou rarely say that.â
âDonât make this weird.â
He switched languages instinctively Irken, Vortian, Neutralien and the words flowed smoothly through the interface. His eyes widened. âIt works.â
âAnd youâre the only one I trust to mess with my brain.â
âFlattering,â she replied dryly. âNow get out before I add more upgrades.â
Scene â Orieon & Zora (Blue-Light Fields)
The night air shimmered with soft bioluminescent glow as the tiny blue insects drifted lazily over the open field. Orieon stood at the edge of the grass, hands buried in his sleeves, antennae twitching nervously.
He hadnât seen this place or her in a while.
ââŚOrieon?â He turned.
Zora stood beneath the glow, taller now, her posture refined from academy training âbut her expression was still warm, still gentle, still the same girl who chased lights with him in the dark. His chest tightened.
âYou⌠remembered this place,â he said quietly.
âHow could I forget? You nearly tripped over your own feet trying to catch one of those glow-bugs.â
âI was being stealthy,â he muttered.
âYou were squeaking.â He flushed.
They walked into the field together, the insects drifting around them like drifting stars made small. For a moment, the world felt simple again. Zora spoke first.
âI heard about the incident with your father.â
âI hate being seen as his reflection,â he admitted softly.
âSometimes I look in the mirror and⌠I donât know which parts belong to me anymore.â
Zora reached up and lightly brushed one of his antennae back into place, something no one else ever dared to do.
âI missed you,â he whispered.
âI know,â she said. âI called becauseâŚ.I didnât want you to go through this alone.â
Scene â Orieon & Eva (The Weight of Truth)
Eva sat at the kitchen table with a cup of warm herbal broth, fingers wrapped tight around the glass as if it anchored her to the room.
Orieon stood across from her, silent.
He had never seen her look so tired.
âI should have told you sooner,â she said softly. âAbout Red. About what he did. About why I kept you hidden.â He shook his head.
âMom⌠you were protecting us.â
âI was protecting your childhood,â she corrected, eyes glistening.
âI wanted you to believe the universe was kinder than it truly is.â
He sat beside her, antennae lowered.
âYou always tried to keep us safe.â
Evaâs voice broke. âAnd now you carry things I never wanted you to carry.â
He reached for her hand. âIâm still your son,â he said. âNothing he told me changed that.â
âYou grew so tall,â she murmured, brushing his cheek with her thumb. âSometimes I look at you and see the soldier he once was⌠and then you laugh, and I see the child who wouldnât leave my arms.â
He leaned into her touch. âIâm scared of becoming like him,â he admitted. Eva furrowed.
âHow can you be so sure?â
âBecause,â she whispered, pulling him close, âyou still ask yourself that question.â
He blinked hard, burying his face into her shoulder. The scent of home and safety.
âI donât want to lose you.â
âYou wonât. Even if the world turns against us, I will always be your mother.âHe held her tighter. A frightened boy and the woman who cared.
Scene: Orieon & Tallest Red (Mirror of Shadows)
The Neutralien observation chamber was quiet. The lights were dim, casting long shadows across the floor. Red stood with his hands clasped behind his back, posture sharp and formal, staring through the glass at the city beyond. Orieon entered, stopping several steps away. Their silhouettes lined up almost perfectly. Red did not turn.
âYou came,â he said simply.
âI didnât come for you,â Orieon replied. âI came for answers.â A faint smile showed on Red.
âStop saying that.â Red finally faced him.
âYou despise what Iâve done,â Red said calmly.
âGood. You should.â Orieonâs jaw tightened.
âThen why tell us everything? Why force us to carry it?â He asked with edge in his tone.
âBecause lies crumble,â Red answered. âAnd when they do, they bury the ones standing beneath them.â
âWhen I looked at you,â he admitted, âI saw who I used to be. Before command, before conquest, before the war turned every choice into a weapon.â Orieon stiffened.
âIâm not your second chance.â
âNo. You are my consequence.â Red said softly. He did not look like a conqueror.
He looked like a man who finally understood the cost of his legacy.
âI donât want your path.â
âThen donât try to shape me into it.â
âI wonât.â Red nodded.
âYou will surpass me,â Red said quietly. âNot in power but in restraint.â Orieon turned around.
âI donât want to surpass you. I just want to be me.â He replied. He left without looking back.
Behind him, Tallest Red stood alone in the dim light staring at the reflection of the boy who carried his faceâŚbut not his future.
