So what’s the problem with OrangeXLemon?
I noticed people hate on this ship a lot so I wanted to talk about it a bit.
The main reason I see people hating on this ship is that it’s “lesbian erasure”. Why? Because of Lime’s crush on Orange? I could argue that it’s not directly stated in canon that she has a crush on Orange but tbh I believe she does so I’m not gonna bother with that, but just saying, it’s only hinted. But it’s never said that ORANGE likes Lime back, so they aren’t a couple or anything. Also there’s no proof that Lime is a lesbian. Sure, she’s not straight, but there’s other sexualities. Lime’s costume even kind of looks like it has the pan flag on it lol.
Now, Orange and Lemon are childhood friends. That’s like an anime trope lol. Orange kind of has some sort of love triangle going on! So it makes sense that people would ship one side of the triangle! Orange was the only one there for Lemon. Tell me why it’s a bad ship? Because Lime has a crush on Orange? That’s it??
NOTE that I am NOT saying OrangeXLemon is better than OrangeXLime. I ship both but mostly OrangeXLime. I’m just saying you shouldn’t hate on either!!! If you have a personal reason for disliking a ship or it’s just not your cup of tea then that’s fine, just please don’t bash others for shipping it.
