I hate how generative AI has infiltrated everything. I can't trust that the playlist I'm listening to on YouTube isn't AI generated; I can't parse the music well enough to tell.

When they use AI in their images, it puts me off. I'm intentionally looking for channels that published prior to ~2023 ish, but it's getting harder and harder.

well I totally forgot “the Doctor lies” is something that the Doctor told River that...does not make me feel better about anything

also, Amy and Rory....just okay with leaving River all alone....fuck foreknowledge. their child was stolen from them and turned into an assassin set to kill one of their best friends, and they’re just going to be fine with walking away? even if you want to make an argument about how Amy and Rory didn’t have a deep emotional attachment to baby Melody since they’d only known of her existence for a few months, tops, they still know and care about River. They’d still be concerned about River.

it’s just...it’s very weird to watch this, after having watched the latest episode with Thirteen, where family and friendships and interpersonal relationships are so central. Where relationships with siblings and grandparents and their relationships are so important, to go to the Ponds storyline, where those familial relationships are so background as to be nearly nonexistent--when we see them they are very secondary. Even in “Let’s Kill Hitler” where parents and child are reunited, the focus of the story is the Doctor dying and Melody “becoming” River. “A Good Man Goes to War” is similarly focused on the Doctor’s triumph/defeat, though River’s relationship to Amy and Rory is more focal.
