If you lost the first round of a sword fight and you were all pissy about it and the person you were sword-fighting (the prince) said “hit.” just to piss you off how would you then, in turn, say “no.” would you be firm about it would you be snarky about it how would you be.

Also you’re supposed to be avenging your dead father and sister but by the terms of the king because he’s letting you kill the prince successfully without repercussion but also (headcanon) you’re falling for the prince because you’re super bisexual and he is hitting on you almost literally because you’re sword-fighting and he just hit you also sword-fighting is an innuendo and the death of your father and sister is just complex backstory to spark more fire and flame and enemies to lovers and angst between you and the prince.
