You know, my desperate fear of losing my friends while I'm still making them makes a little more sense when looking at which things made me emotional as a very young child.

My mother swears up and down that I loved Dumbo, though I have no memory of this. Apparently I liked watching it because it made me sad, particularly the "Baby Mine" scene.

My dad made toddler-me a little burned CD of music I knew I liked from what he played in the car, most notably "All My Loving" by the Beatles. At the time, I didn't have any concept of the song being about promising not to cheat on your partner while away, I just thought it was about someone leaving and saying they'd always love you. It always made me think about missing my dad whenever he went on work trips.

Evidently I've always been a sentimental fool with abandonment anxieties, so maybe it shouldn't be such a wonder that I'm clingy about the few close friendships I've been able to stumble into.
