Day 53
Today is the last day of school holidays. The last two weeks, I have been with the girls from about 7am to 7pm on Monday through Friday, plus today (Monday). I am happy to be back to having the ability to take naps! I had been planning on buying some UGG boots to take home to the States with me, but it has been cold, I just had to buy them to use now! Yesterday being below 10 degrees Celsius, for the first time that I know of. Australians only wear UGG boots indoors, so I hope this insanely expensive pair of slippers lasts me for a long time, like maybe forever.
The first day of school holidays (two Mondays ago), we went to Taronga Zoo. The zoo in Sydney. It was so great to take the kids and great to see the animals too. Of course, while the kids played in the park, I sat with the moms. Such a weird feeling! Anyway, here are some giraffes with the city of Sydney in the background.
And another view of the city from the zoo.
And what is an Australian zoo without a koala?
The second day of holidays, we had a play date with my English friend and her kiddos. The third day, the old au pair took the girls to the park so I had time to clean and shower! :D On Thursday and Friday, I wasn't feeling that great, so we hung around the house and went to a local park.
The weekend in between was the 4th of July, and it was amazing as you can tell by my other post ;)
This past week we watched a lot of TV and movies, park playing and went to the beach again on our own. On Friday, as a treat because it is ridiculously expensive (reg. price $50) for an adult and two kids to go to the movies, we saw “Inside Out”. It was a cute animated film about a girls memories and emotions. Here is a trailer if you’re curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kArxASiw3Y
Just a couple more hours of school holidays..
This past weekend I also went out with some English friends.. we drank way too much on Friday night and enjoyed the beautiful day on Saturday with lunch outside at the Opera Bar.
