Toronto is full of culinary experiences. Of late, there have been so many great Asian or Italian options. Instead of our latest night out, Cindy, Barb & I decided to go French. We wanted somewhere indulgent, especially with this snowy weather. So off we went to one of Toronto's best-kept secrets - the Fifth Grill & Terrace for Winterlicious 2020. We started off with the evening with a bottle of Spanish red to warm us up and caught on what's going on of late. Like usual, we ended ordering the same appetizer, entrée and dessert?! Yes, we drank red even though we ordered fish, but seriously why not! I am still thinking about the Seared Salmon in orange beurre blanc that was rich yet light. It was perfectly balanced by the sides of spinach mousse & roasted potatoes. This was preceded by our appetizer of Atlantic Crab Cake and Shrimp served with cucumber and mango salad, cashew and coriander. We finished off with the warm apple tarte tartin topped with caramel and fresh Chantilly crème! A shout-out to Chef Didier of course! This was definitely a delicious food adventure re-discovering French Cuisine in the heart of Toronto. Yes, it was rich, but we all knew we have out hot yoga scheduled in the next days. Good food and wine made better with my good friends!Best three hours in this unassuming place! #openyourcuriosity #the6ix #torontolife #toronto #416 #lifeinthe6ix #nomnom #nomnomTO #foodie #foodieTO #food #foodporn #foodpornTO #torontoeats #cuisinefrançaise #winterlicious @cityofto (at The Fifth Grill and Terrace) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8R4Wuihu_D/?igshid=6ldph5d1gutq
