Eugene Fitzherbert’s mother was a young, wealthy, beautiful pureblood witch who died long before her time. His mother met a very charming No-Maj man and just couldn’t resist him. They slept together and soon after he disappeared, leaving her pregnant. Her parents insisted on terminating the pregnancy but she couldn’t give him up. She ran away to America where she intended on having the baby, settling in Seattle where she gave birth. She got sick, very sick but had no money or means to get help. She died, leaving him an orphan, he was later placed in a group home for magic kids and things weren’t exactly splendid there.
The group home treated the children coldly and he felt the effects of that very deeply but he had the memories of the stories his mother used to tell of a man named Flynnigan Rider to help him get by. He began to look beyond the group home and dream of a day when he would be rich, tanned and rested all alone on an island somewhere. He could practically see it when he closed his eyes, a palm tree swaying above him, warm sand beneath him. The life he always wanted. When he opened his eyes all he saw was hopelessness and grey.
It was around his second year at Ilvermorny when he first started to try his hand at theft. He started in Adamsville, using his magic to fool the residents and slowly began to work up and up to bigger schemes and heists. He’s stolen numerous valuable items and sold them on the deep web. Practically everything he owns at this point has been stolen, including his name. When Eugene enrolled at Ilvermorny he enrolled as Flynn Rider and not Eugene Fitzherbert. He desperately wants to keep his real name a secret because 1. he thinks it’s super lame and 2.He doesn’t want to be found by his mother’s parents. Can he ever really truly open up and heal from all his hurt and pain if he refuses to simply be himself?
