We share data because we want science on pollution to be an open, transparent and democratic process. Could you imagine a world where only governments and corporations were allowed to access data and produce knowledge on the state of pollution? Sadly most apps don’t share the data and people new to mapping dont question who is allowed to download data, enforce the law and produce knowledge.
Introducing OpenLitterMap to the OpenStreetMap community for the first time
We are not just mapping litter, we are sharing data. Unlike most litter apps, anyone can download all OpenLitterMap data for free, and use it for any purpose, without permission. This is necessary to democratize science and allow anyone to produce knowledge on the state of pollution. Otherwise, who will be allowed to download data and produce knowledge on the state of plastic pollution? Join the open pollution revolution and SHARE DATA
