Rainsford, the pop starlet on the rise who comes from a family of superb actors and musicians (and who’s a sometimes actor herself), previously teamed up with synthpop favorite Twin Shadow on Intentions. On crisp new song Open Open, she serves up more of those slick nostalgic synth vibes, so much so that I can’t help but wonder if Twin Shadow is involved in this one, too. Those synth flares and backing vocals sure do reflect his sound. The indie pop singer songwriter wrote Open Open as a vulnerable apology to an ex after falling out. Rainsford puts her heart on the line as she recounts their time together, belting out the song’s lyrics with powerful, compelling depth. A video for the song was filmed in Joshua Tree. The visual’s colonial theme was inspired by Open Open’s lyrics: “I can’t go back in time as much as I wish I could.” Stream/download Open Open, here.
