I have, I have! It's not my favourite ship, since I have mixed feelings on Eska (loving mixed feelings though), but like, I love to imagine Eska as having grown a little after Unalaq's death because it's very clear he fucked his kids up. So imagining that Eska has matured a little as chief of the NWT and as she's free of her dad, I can see her and Opal meeting while Eska is in RC for some vague political thing, or maybe when visiting Korra, if their relationship has improved. Or maybe Opal is doing an airbending excursion in the frigid North. I very much like the idea of Opal fully embracing the nomadic lifestyle of the airbenders, at least for a few years, and perhaps wanting to see places she's only seej in books. Including the NWT. This can also combine with my headcanon that Baatar Sr's family lives by the border between the NWT and the EK and that his mothers still live in the area. So Opal could also just be visiting family.
I think their personalities may clash, but certainly not to the degree some may think. Opal is very sweet, but you can tell how much she's matures due to her airbender lifestyle. So I don't think she'd let Eska's... tougher personality steamroll her own thoughts and feelings.
I think they'd be some prime weird girl 4 weird girl romance. Opal grew up very isolated and then her first contact with the outside world was literally a monastery. And Eska doesn't strike me as the most well socialised either. So like they'd be a treat to watch.
I love to think about how Bolin will not only go through the 'my exes are dating 'thing, but also the fact that he is still very scared of Eska. So like, douvle kick in the nuts.
