He didn’t really know he had a crush until someone on the crew teased him about hanging out with them so much

His usual confidence and sociability would waver around them and he’d find himself more conscious of his actions and words

At some point, he would get upset at his own actions. He missed how they talked so naturally and how they would smile at him

So one night when it was just the two of them in the kitchen, he was washing dishes while they told him about their latest mission. He dried his hands and leaned against the counter so they were face to face

He could feel the smile on his face as they continued to talk after they had stuttered a bit when he moved

“(Y/N)-san.” They hummed over their mug that they were sipping on, “Go out on a date with me”

He almost laughed as they sputtered and blushed furiously

“I really like you so humor me with a date?”

He almost jumped over the counter to squeeze them when they said yes

Marco the Phoenix:

No one would have known that he had a crush on them or anyone, his face was emotionless and nothing changed in his demeanor when talking to them

He was the only one that could feel the slight sweat in his palms and how he held down the warmth in his cheeks when he was around them

He figured that he couldn’t live like this with his feelings hidden

His nerves still got to the best of him though. Although he felt like it was a silly crush, his feelings were still genuine and he didn’t want to ruin the friendship they have

It was just the two of them on deck, with his head resting on their thigh (a habit that had formed between them)

His eyes opened when they gently ran their hand on his head

The smile on their face, he figured, was the reason the words slipped out

“I really like you.” At their surprised expression, a lazy smile lifted his lips as well, “How about we date?”

He finally let the blush rise on his cheeks when they agreed happily and a kiss was left on his forehead

Even though he was naturally loyal, the crew couldn’t help but notice that he pretty much followed them like a puppy

He would deny any sort of feelings that he would have for them if anyone asked but, when he was alone, he admitted that they had really captured his heart

He had the most courage when they went shopping with him and complimented him on his kimono choices

On this shopping trip, he was able to get them to try on a kimono and gushed openly at how cute they looked

“Look at us! We look like such a cute couple!”

The words that slipped his mouth made them both stiffen until they laughed and pulled him in front of the mirror with them, hugging him and smiling

His heart raced as he noticed the matching blush on their cheeks

“We do look cute, don’t we?”
