That "vanquishing the ogre Kaido" is written in Japanese as 鬼退治 (oni taiji) with the furigana カイドウたいじ (kaidou taiji)

鬼 (oni) means ogre (and, in this case, Kaido) and 退治 (taiji) means to get rid of or exterminate

But also THE鬼タイジ (THE oni taiji) is apparently a special program or game in Japan where some people with laser guns chase around others that are dressed up as ogres that try to attack people and they're all competing to win a prize
