#oops hello

Say what you like about the girl and however deadly she may be, she sure knows how to make a man feel bad. He blows a breath out through pursed lips, arms crossing over his chest.

     “For now,” he clarifies. “I’m wantin’ you stay inside for now. Leastways ‘til Kaylee gets back; I’m not havin’ you run around out there without a quick getaway on the cards. Can’t say fairer’n that.” And it is fair. Sensible, even. Only she’s got this look on her face, little waif of a thing, like he’s just skipped up and kicked her favourite puppy.

Erin asks them questions about their gear, acts like there isn’t this massive Thing between them, like they don’t have decades of history, like they’re just complete strangers searching for a ghost together.

Screw that.

Erin wants to pretend like none of it ever happened?

Holtz isn’t going to let her.

She pans the camera to Erin’s face, if only so she has something to look back over later when Erin inevitably leaves again. Then she directs the camera to the collar of her shirt and decides to play hard. “Where did you find such a tiny little bowtie?”

Erin stiffens, and Holtz can tell that she knows exactly what she’s referencing.

“It—it came with the shirt,” Erin says, her voice shaking.

“How stupendous,” Holtz says quietly.

Erin gives her a pained look.

Holtz lowers the camera.

“Jillian, I—”

Abby rattles a locked door. “Somebody really doesn’t want us getting in here.”

Broken out of what may have been a moment, they turn their attention to Abby, who has already moved on to the parlour.

“Holtzmann, come check this out.”

“not even for a second, but that doesn’t mean you’re invincible. it’ll heal, but they can still break,” allison ‘reminds’ him, though it’s doubtful that he’s forgotten. still, his tone is oddly suggestive, and she quirks a brow at such an inquisition. it’s not said aloud but he’s definitely right, she doesn’t hate a little showing off. “fine,” she quips, before coming to his side.

He tried to be thoughtful and pensive. He tried to seem like he knew a surefire answer, a completely foolproof piece of advice that could deliver Adora from her concerns. But nothing came, nothing but the advice he’d been given, that he still struggled to accept. 

He looked to the trees. “All anyone can do-keep going, and never give up. When the storms come-and they will-you’ll get through ‘em. So long as you keep moving forward.”

eventually junior and o’malley (tho he probably doesnt like admitting it) get really attached to donut and wash, and junior starts crying/o’malley throws ANOTHER FIT (hes crying) when they have to leave one day and the parents are just like “???? i am so tired why is this happening they were JUST having a blast over there like 5 seconds ago w h y”

the kids finally go over to get their things and the parents are just standing around talking to donut and wash (more like donut was all HEYYY UR THE PARENTS TELL US ABOUT YOURSELVES). doc mentions that he works at a florist shop and donut is ALL ABOUT FLORA so they start excitedly chattering about what kind of flowers would “brighten up the atmosphere in this stuffy daycare room” and tucker is like “you look like you havent slept in like 10000 years unlike mr sunshine over here” and wash tells tucker that he’s pretty convinced that both butch flowers and donut are not humans. he is convinced and has  conspiracy theory ready and prepped. tucker laughs like “lmao yeah you definitely need to go to sleep”

and suddenly theyve got plans to all have dinner at donut’s house that weekend (”you can bring the kids and they can have a playdate :D!!!”) 

     “If you continue to blame yourself, it will not end well. Ben’s actions were his own, just as mine were.” Perhaps interacting with the living - especially his son - was a bad idea. But that didn’t stop him from doing so. Luke was in such a position as Obi-Wan had been so many years ago, and it pained Anakin to see the past repeat itself in such a way. If he could help, he would try. He wasn’t supposed to be here - he hadn’t spoken to Luke in years and he had sworn to stay away from current affairs. But this was about family as much as it was about the well-being of the galaxy.
