OnS Theories (24S). First Theory - Illusion or Reality. The Black Suns. Resurrection vs Absolute Darkness
Hello everyone, I hope you’re doing alright, I had technical issues here with the post but well, this theory is very centered in a possibility, a very close one to what exactly or why exactly Guren and Shikama aim to have Yuu and Mika together for their respective plans.
I must say the theory tiself is, powerful, therefore, I hope you get to enjoy it!
P.S: Theories are held within a neutral view and ships are excluded
As of late, one of the main topics that have been touched within the latest chapters have been about the Black Suns along how they relate to Mikaela and Yuichiro, specially after these black suns were something visible for the demon Mikaela:

But, within this, there are two characters that have been focused on getting Mikaela and Yuu together for their respective agendas. Said characters are:
Shikama Doji:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 103
Who heavily stated that he’s going to “save” Yu and Mikaela, which of course, such statement can be taken lightly since his goals and ambitions aren’t something that will benefit those two.
And, the other charcater who needs them is Guren Ichinose:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 86
In chapter 86, Noya highlighted that Mika, Yu and Asuramaru were the elemental keys to Guren’s dream, which of course, is to Resurrect all humanity that perished with the Catastrophe, but now, the main question is, how exactly do these characters plan to bring forward their respective plans?
Correct, by only one way and that is a Ritual.
You might wonder how exactly a ritual would connect to this, and ironically, there’s been a proof to this or rather a hint in the latest chapter of the story:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 105
In chapter 105, it was visible that Shikama carried the corpse of Yuichiro from the Dark Ages of Greece in order to perform a ritual with the Black Suns he created with time, but, within this, is there a proof to claim that Shikama carried a corpse?
In fact there is, such proof relies with Noya:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 85
In chapter 85, when Guren headed off to Yuu’s position, he eventually released Noya and manifested him in the physical world, to which in less than few seconds, Noya went to see the first grown-up Yuu, which implies a lot that all the clones of Yuu he has seen died at a very young age.
But returning to the ritual process, how can I exactly state there’s such thing?
For this, it’s needed to remember something important, what could it be?
Correct. The Black Suns the demon Mikaela was able to see:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 103
In said chapter, when the battle between Yuu and Mika was about to begin, the demon Mikaela managed to see the Black Suns in the sky, but, within this, there’s something rather intriguing, what could it be?
Correct, the black suns started to gather or produce something like lightning:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 103
And within this, said lightning started to gather around one character, which of course, said character was Yuu no less:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 104
And the main question is, why did the black suns started to resonate with Yuu?
Blood is the currency of the soul. (Quote from Hellsing)
One of the things the demon Mikaela wondered after seeing the black suns was whenever they appeared within his heart or not, and of course, in chapter 104, he was able to see the Black Suns again admist knowing that Yuu wasn’t capable of seeing them, which could lead to the question whenever they existed or not in the real world, but, in the case they didn’t exist, it’d fall into the illusion of existance. Thus leading to the next thing which is: Why was the demon Mikaela capable of seeing the black suns?
It is known that Yuichiro, the one that has autonomy, consciousness and a soul despite being created with such black suns, had more humanity in contrast to the clones Shikama made long ago; and of course, this is heavily thanks to the experiments Rigr made with him when he was a child, and you might wonder what does this have to do with the quote.
For this, let’s analyze some factors.
First of all, one of the heaviest hints about how Blood is the currency of the soul is the very fact that the place where the space of the demon Mikaela, after being sealed within the weapon he wielded as a vampire, was the very place on which his reunion with Yuu took place along the very fact that he became a complete vampire:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 103
To give strength to the theory, it is needed to consider that, when Mikaela drank human blood for the very first time, he wasn’t drinking from an average human, but rather, he was drinking Yuu’s blood, but, what is so special about Yu’’s blood?
Despite knowing the current Yuu was created to be more human which gives sense as to how he has more consciousness and willpower with his actions, he still carries the blood of a seraph, just like the former clones that were made by Shikama carried; and of course, if many might recall, said blood was the one capable to turn into vampires those who are currently the Apostles of the First Progenitor.
Within this, it is needed to be considered that Yuichiro gave up his humanity in chapter 42; he literally threw it away with the sole purpose to become something that is neither seraph nor demon, which would make sense as to why now the demon Mikaela was capable to see the black suns, what do I mean?
Mikaela stopped drinking blood from a human but rather from someone who was neither human, namanari, demon or seraph; leading him to absorb parts of Yuu that are tied to what builds his soul.
But now that this first part is solved, the next question comes and that is:
How exactly will the ritual take place or be made in consideration of what Guren and Shikama have in their agendas?
For this, let’s set 4 scenarios in relation of method and goal.
First Scenario - A rod made of Black Suns. Shikama’s side
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 103
As I mentioned above, the Black Suns had a reaction once Yuu aimed to attack Mikaela; the black suns started to gather around him as if it was something determinated, as if Yuu was needed to be the trigger for such action.
Which only leads to the possibility that, in case Shikama manages to reach these two first after Yuu and Mika conclude their battle; it’s possible that Shikama may activate the black suns against Yuu and Mika acting as a rod to capture them and restrain their movements.
Within this, it must be taken in consideration that Shikama has authority over demons along the fact that Asuramaru works for him, leading to the possible events that he might be able to control the demon Mikaela and force him to take control over Yuu with the sole goal of finally controlling something that escalates the word taboo, something unthinkable to any, something that will bring forward his goals and ambitions.
Second Scenario - Resonance of the Black Suns. Guren’s side
In contrast of the first scenario, within this second scenario, in case Yuichiro manages to win against Mika before the First Progenitor makes his apperance, it’s very likely that in future events, in order for them to work as one, as two souls merged, there must be something present which is the resonance of souls. What does this mean?
With the resonance, it is meant that the Black Suns may gather around them without harming each element that will be participating in the ritual; in this case, it means that Yuu, Mika and Asuramaru will retain their willpower and consciousness without losing it with manipulations.
But, despite these two small scenarios, there are other two that mustn’t be forgotten, what do I mean?
Correct. The goals of the First Progenitor and Guren.
First Scenario - Absolute Darkness. Rebellion against God.
Within this scenario, it is needless to say that, in former theories, I’ve stated that Shikama is quite the literal representation or incarnation of the fallen angel Lucifer, the one who rebelled against god...
Link of theory: OnS Theories (17S). Third Theory - Shikama’s punishment, and the reason behind the corpse (Long Theory)
Back in chapter 94, he stated he was punished with his current physical appearance along the loss of his child, which he would retaliate by making his own dark sun.
Within this, it does give an insight that Shikama isn’t playing or showing a tantrum like the Progenitors have displayed against their sire, but rather, he holds a deep grudge against God, a grudge that has made him do the impossible in order to carry an image of being someone like God within the story.
Hence why, in the case Mikaela and Yuu were to fall on his hands, the very first thing he’d do against them would be taking away their consciousness and wilpower in order to finally create his world of absolute darkness, one were life would cease to be, one were only him would be the one standing alone and negating all that God has ever created.
Second Scenario - Resurrection
While it’s known that Guren’s actions cannot be justified; it’s known as well that within stories, a character must take the harsh path, a path on which morality is thrown away in order to give an opportunity to humanity.
In Guren’s case, he too aims to have Mika with Yuu in order to counter the control the First Progenitor has, but why?
Guren has awareness of some things the First Progenitor has made thanks to the information Rigr revealed to him back in the World Resurrection LNs, along the experiments and research the Hyakuya Sect has made; and, within this, it’s important to take notice that Guren’s strategy is to use the plans the Hyakuya sect was aiming for, which were to carry on with Sun God Aten and the Sword of Michael with them:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 81
The main goal of Rigr and the Sect, was to bring an image or something close to the Archangel Michael to finally face the First Progenitor; but, within Guren and Mahiru’s criteria, Asuramaru and Yuu weren’t enough; and for this plan, Mikaela was required as well.
Within this, Guren does also plan to counter everything the First prepared with time, which is, using his creations against him; which is something visible with how Rigr took the first step by making Yuichiro and Mikaela autonomous beings harboring consciousness, emotions, willpower, along the possibilities of making decisions.
But now, how would the resurrection take place?
As crude as it may sound, the very reason why Yuu isn’t capable to die within the current time of the story, is due to the amount of black suns that exist within him, what does this mean?
While it’s true his seraph powers are capable of restoring his body and heal him, it is also thanks to the Black Suns which are like countles warped souls trapped within him, that he is capable of living and surviving despite how his mind slowly deteriorates.
It is to say that he’s the key for the resurrection along with Mika, which it’s something that has been stated by Guren himself:
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 59
Guren stated that Yuu was the vital piece to the resurrection due to the fact that, in order to contrast the Catastrophe or reverse it, he’s possibly aiming to do the opposite of what he did which is using different tributes, but, does this mean Yuu will disappear with Mika?
The answer to this it’s highly no. But why?
This is due to the fact that, once the First Progenitor is gone, he might trigger the Resurrection, and it’s possible that within this, he might erase what cursed Yuu with something called as a “Samsara”, which is the constant cycle of life and death along the possibility of turning Mika into a human again.
It can be concluded that, despite the sides that portray Guren and Shikama as beings with hidden agendas in relation of having Yuu and Mika as their keys for their respective plans, each of them will handle their rituals that will either benefit or oliberate life itself within the story.
