You can call me The Fulcrum, I’m here to escort you back to HQ.” He was under no impression that a Courser ( or, ex Courser ) needed his protection - and, given by the other’s appearance alone, the Institute was still trying new advancements on synths. ( The ears were new -- )

“Ah, Mister Spock, I’ve been keeping an eye out for you. Dillon Spencer, security. I’ve been after a good game of three dimensional chess and word on the ship is you’re the one to beat. I’d love to play a game sometime soon if you’re up for it?” A wide grin accompanies her words, and though she knows logically (ha!) you probably can’t disarm a Vulcan with friendliness, it surely can’t hurt to try. Her intentions are at least honest, if nothing else/ Chess is a habit she surprised herself by taking up during her recuperation after the Serendipity was lost. Though her uncle was more than happy to oblige her new hobby, he never was quite the best at it, and she’s itching to play a game against someone decent. Besides which, she wants to be able to say she’s had at least one good experience with everyone on the ship. When the Serendipity fell there were people who died that she’d never had a one on one conversation with before-- who’s faces she could barely match to names on the memorial statue. The thought haunts her, and she is determined that she will not be able to say the same when her time on the Enterprise is over, although hopefully it will end in a happier way. Chess with Spock seems a good a place to start as any.
