While continuing through the woods not long after placing the new letter on the forest floor, Owen feels an overwhelming feeling of being watched. Nothings there though, nothing in the trees, nothing behind him and there's no trace that someone is there.
@mayorburntdown
Owen tries to shake the feeling, but he can’t get it to go away.
Blasted thoughts….first these letters, now this feeling. Why must the mind play tricks on him like this?
Continuing to walk through the woods, he gets frustrated as the feeling only grows stronger, and he grumbles to himself under his breath, unintelligible complaints about tricks of the mind.

Karina's pretty happy in Heaven. It's sad to see her widow husband try and fail to move on, always thinking of her. She cries as he cries himself to sleep every night and when he wakes up in the morning, trying to live his life again, struggling to raise their daughter, she gives him as many blessings as she can manage.
Fuuka was in a bit of a daze, not realizing she hurt her butt a bit as she saw Minato reaching out towards her with his hand. The rain missing her body as the big umbrella was put over her head. She almost had to ask him what he said to her--she shook her head, reaching out to his hand, as she just fell into his arms. Fuuka didn’t know how to explain why she didn’t go into the dorms. The whole situation with her liking Junpei, and now knowing that Chidori offered her life to save him--she could never compete with someone like her.
Can’t compete with a dead girlfriend.
“...I...” She was a bit speechless. Fuuka couldn’t really explain her reasoning, well she could, but knew Minato would be persistent. “I can’t go in...” She whispered, noticing the others briefly saw her before she fell. “...th-they saw me fall... ...a-and he’s in there.” Fuuka kept her head low, not wanting to make eye contact with anyone, especially Junpei. She gripped his hand a little tighter as her shoulders were trembling because of the cold, and because she was holding her tears back.
Gerald read over the letter early Sunday morning. He had not heard from Vinarei for a few days now, never mind Atticus and Kota. He opened the letter, the small smile on his face dropping as he read through the lines. His cousin...dead? The letter read on and on about Atticus’ feelings on the matter. Gerald’s fists clenched around the sides in anger. “How did she die? How did she -die!?-”
The page said nothing in return to his question. A tear ran down his cheek and he pulled the letter away from his face. The funeral was that very night. How could they not tell him sooner? This must mean that Verlai perished as well, they were sharing the same body, right? He walked through the dead Easterly streets, not saying a word to the birds that cried up above. He couldn’t go back to his apartment, not in this state.
He went to the coast, walking for what seemed like eternity. It was only then he let himself break down. He sat on the beach, the waves lapping at his feet, as if trying to console him. He lost too much family already, he promised himself he wouldn’t let anything else happen to them.
Yet he failed again.
Could he have done something? Maybe, but losing someone like Vinarei made his chest cave in upon itself. He looked back down at the letter, written in the familiar hand of Vinarei’s nephew. The closest thing the woman had to a son. He knew Atticus was hurting far more than he was. He understood his torment, he had been through it time after time after time. He found forgiveness.
The question though still pervaded every thought. “How did it happen?” He mumbled to himself. I suppose if he wanted to find out, he’d have to go to the source.

Levi was helping out with some of the cattle, in the village. Not paying attention, although they could feel eyes on them. From a distance they looked just like the man that Owen lost.. so so much like Louis. Like the other could be his reincarnation.
Owen had been wandering the outskirts of town, unsure of where to go. But then…he spotted someone. Who….no. It couldn’t be.
Trying to not seem too eager, he moved closer quickly, trying to get a better look at the person.
“…Louis?…”
The word was a whisper, a hope on the wind. A prayer barely audible.
Frederick had a horrid, horrid habit of somehow missing almost all major conflicts between the humans and the vampires, which at this point has left him incredibly bored and restless. Since it seems that thrills won't find him, he's decided to go find them instead... Being polite gets incredibly tiring anyway, after all...
Which led to him now being perched up in the trees out of view, until he shoots an arrow that narrowly (and purposefully) misses Owen, followed by Frederick himself leaping down from his tree and drawing his silver sword, rushing at Owen with a wide grin.
( - @ferral-fangs )
The lumberjack barely flinched as the arrow hit the tree next to him. Of course, a brief moment of panic passed through his mind, but at this point he’d been threatened enough times that he’d trained himself to not react.
Whirling around, he had very little time to react and absorb the information of his attacker. So he quickly grabbed a long stick from off the ground as something to block hits from the sword with. Sure, his claws would work better for offensive attacks, but this would work just fine for defence.
“What the- what do you want?”
ooc: i wasn’t sure if he would know frederick or not so i kept it vague, lmk if he would know him or not
