Speechless speech

I had the opportunity to attend Classique’s Pop-up single release event. I’m not sure how I’m going to even write my thoughts about this remarkable woman.

leaves me speechless and filled with tears but also pleasure, it’s a weird combination of feelings that I haven't felt before in this way. From the opening words, “You don’t know this pain” grabs my heart in a way where tears are welcomed. I hope I’m making sense. I always feel like I’m not clear.

Anyway...

I’ve never met someone with this type of passion before though a stringed instrument. See, Classique is known as a hip hop violinist. I’m so glad that she has released her single, (I’m beyond proud of her) maybe that’s where the joy is coming from but also because there is a beauty in pain. To know something or someone has a control or pull over you. I know this feeling all too well. From the first time I saw Classique play live she shocked me. She made me feel human but also allowed me into her world. This song makes my heart speed up and slow down. The addition of OneTakeCarter, a dope lyricist seals this message in one of the best gifts music will experience this year. I look forward to more from Classique and I hope you can feel the message through her strings as well.

GOOD MUSIC | OnetakeCarter

I love to see people I grew up with doing good shit, especially like utilizing their creativity. Nowadays everyone from your hood is a rapper, but when I got my hands on the link to this video, something just told me to watch it -- and I’m so glad I did. I haven’t felt this way about a video concept since I first saw Vic Mensa’s “Down On My Luck,” visuals. Both so well-executed, using the most familiar means of communication of our generation as a medium.

Check out my little homie (haha) Malcolm -- I mean, OneTakeCarter’s new video for his song, “Motivation.” It’s definitely a calm tune you can sit back and bob your head to while you enjoy the show.
