Not-really-dead fic
Not Really Dead: ★★★★☆
An underappreciated trope, in my opinion. Sherlock Holmes is the classic, but there are lots of different ways to enjoy this trope. Personally, I'm a huge fan of the Gandalf version of this trope, where one of the characters is left for dead, and both the not-really-dead character and the former companions have to undergo a number of trials. It's especially delicious when those left behind struggle all the more because not-really-dead character is not there, and they need to overcome their absence. Also, in the vein of Gandalf, if their absence triggers the breakup of a former fellowship, causing conflict among those that remain, underscoring their importance to the entire group.
An alternative for this trope is the "Not Worth Killing", i.e. when a character decides against dealing out that last fatal blow. This is especially great when it triggers a whole avalanche of unintended consequences, although it needs to be well done, or it just smacks of plot armour.
I would definitely write this trope, if given the right incentives hahaha.
Send me a trope!
Enemy to Caretaker :)
Enemy to Caretaker: ★★★★✯
As with Enemy to Lovers, impeccable as a concept. Might actually be somewhat superior to Enemy to Lovers, since there is even more potential for angst. Both characters are unexpectedly thrust into a situation that they cannot control and are uncomfortable with, and they have to expose themselves in some way - one person showing weakness, the other compassion. Fucking delicious. The potential for betrayal on both sides is also at an all-time high, which makes this trope particularly fraught with tension. Works particularly well if there's some good vs. evil dynamic going on, but it becomes less clear over time who the good and the evil person is.
Again, loses half a point for execution. I'm trying to think of a pairing I would like to write for this, and almost answered Batman/Superman, but I hate BvS-style fics, so either I have to be very smart with that trope or I have to look elsewhere.

Angst (100)
Fluff (42)
Hurt/Comfort (24)
Humor (18)
Light Angst (18)
Angst coming in at twice the rate of the next hightest tag...who would have thought it LOL. These are definitely accurate, though I do have to admit to being surprised humor is so high up there. I actually don't think writing humor is one of my strengths.

📚 🔮 🧂
📚-What's the first fic on the 50th page of your AO3 history? (Choose a lower multiple of 5 if you don't have 50 pages)
An Eye For Quality - a fun little Bagginshield fanfic.
🔮- What is your favourite kind of AU, or favourite genre of fiction if you don't read AUs?
Mmm, I’m a sucker for a werewolf AU or any general supernatural AU. Even in my fantasy/supernatural fandoms I love having additional flavors of it thrown in lol.
Course I also love a good fix-it AU
🧂- If you could make one (1) change to your canon of choice, what would it be?
Well gosh, so many canons to choose from, so many changes to potentially make….
Could the one change be consistent characterization in DC comics? 😂
(No? Well fine. I’ll just throw a dart at a wall to choose a character death to undo.)

[tell me about a character or story that is giving you shrimp emotions right now]
Omg have you heard about our lord and savior Jason Todd? I have long given up on DC canon, but this poor boy was literally picked up from the streets, thrust into high society, murdered, resurrected, dunked in the Lazarus Pit and then went off the rails in various interesting ways. Look at the poor little meow meow. LOOK AT HIM. Bruce could never.
*breathes into a paper bag*
I need to stop here because I have Emotions about Jason Todd.
Randomly dropping in to ask if you've seen the YYH live action yet, or if you plan to?
I did! And I mostly have good feelings about it - I thought the casting was great, I really liked the interactions between characters, and unsurprisingly Kuwabara ended up being far and away my favorite part (with Botan a surprising second - her actress is SO cute).
I felt like the accelerated timeline definitely made some story bits hit differently and lose some of their emotional impact from the series, and I'm pretty sad about the elimination of a lot of really strong secondary characters (Puu, in particular, and pretty much everyone from the Dark Tournament arc).
But I was primarily worried that it would be really awful and that I would absolutely hate it, and that's not at all what happened - I quite enjoyed the experience!
