When was the last time Ben had seen his mother? He couldn’t recall. Yet, here he was showing up to Senator Organa’s office in hopes that she could figure out how to get him out of the mess he’d made for himself. She’d done it before, so he was sure she could do it again, but this time he was done with Snoke’s shit. The man treated him like shit, constantly throwing his father’s death in his face to keep him pacified and honestly, he was sick of it. He wanted to be normal in some semblance again. Maybe go off to college and study something was actually passionate about.
He was holding his helmet under his arm as he walked through the government office. Most people around the area knew him by face despite how he hadn’t been there in ages and so none of the security stopped him. They knew he wasn’t any danger to his mother. He loved her more than anything. He went straight pass her secretary’s desk and right into her office, seeing the woman on the phone.
“Mama.” He said quietly. She’d noticed someone had entered but her gaze was elsewhere. She held a finger out for him to wait and Ben frowned.
“Mama!” He tried again and this time she realized. Her eyes slowly looking up at him before he gave her the widest smile he could imagine.
“I’ll call you back.” She said to the person on the other line and hung up without waiting for an answer back, “Ben Solo, what in god’s name are you doing in my office?”
“I wanted to speak with you about something important.” Ben moved to sit in the seat in front of her desk, “Something you might be happy to hear about.” Leia gave him a wary gaze before pressing the button to buzz her secretary.
“Poe, be a dear and grab me two cups of coffee, would ya? And clear out my schedule for today. It seems something more important has come up.” His mother tried to hold her smile, but it twinkled in her eyes. It was a hope for a future that didn’t involve hurting people. He just needed his mother to help him figure out how.
