No. That’s something that only dragons are able to do. A dragon you’re not bonded to can speak with you, and you to it, but you wouldn’t be able to speak to the Rider in that manner (bonded or otherwise).

You’re able to faintly feel the others emotions. Something that grows strained due to the vast distances between you both. You’d also feel an emptiness when said person dies.

Finding your one true doesn’t require an awakening, as such, for Riders because simply bonding with your dragon will open that avenue. As dragons are more in tune with their emotions; they allow for their Rider to open up a lot more than humanoid species normally would. Hence, why you’re able to find your one true; the other half of your heart. As your dragon is the other half to your soul.

There are many versions of “one true” within Gallinia. The wolf shifters mate for life as well, but it’s an innate calling that’s completed by a ritual; bonding the two souls forevermore. The elves also have something kindred to it called mēre ōños… It’s hard to translate exactly into common tongue, but it means one light (roughly). As the elves believe they were borne from the very starlight that graces the night skies of Gallinia; giving them their powers and their strength. By calling you their one light, their mēre ōños, they’re basically referring to you as their home; the place they were destined to arrive to… The place they were made for.
