ONE TEA
なぜかタピオカなしで。ミルクティーだけ味わいたかった。結果おいしかった。
次はタピオカ入りで。
点心などフードものもあったのでそれも一緒に食べたいな。
Colorful Bobas!
We’re (this is an assumption) mostly familiar with boba, the literal tapioca pearls. The calorie-heavy balls of goodness that is now often served in a more flavorful, honey boba form. However, a few tea houses serve unique bobas that are colorful and/or flavored, and these unique toppings tend to become their specialties. Check some of them out if you’re in their area!
AU79 – Pink Boba
(Location: San Gabriel, CA)
How’s it different?
It’s pretty much regular honey boba that’s just really, REALLY well cooked and densely, but subtly sweet. And pretty.
Fluff Ice – Blue Honey Boba
(Location: Monterey Park, CA)
How’s it different?
It’s also just regular honey boba that’s colorful. Plus, it totally makes the blue décor of the place make sense.
One Tea – Matcha Pearls
(Location: Warm Springs, Fremont, CA)
How’s it different?
One of the best boba textures ever, and the matcha flavor is actually rich, complex, and seeps through the pearls. This boba is a highlight in its area.
Fusion Tea Bar – Green Tea Boba
(Location: Cerritos, CA)
How’s it different?
The green tea flavor is there, but it tastes more like green tea flavoring than green tea that magically ended up in boba. Texture could be better, but when you got the unique drinks that Fusion Tea Bar has, you can be okay with boba that’s not perfect.
Jastea – Crystal Boba
(Location: San Jose, CA)
How’s it different?
The white boba is a popular topping that was made popular by Gong Cha. This is Jastea’s version of Gong Cha’s white pearls, which is actually different from regular boba in texture. It’s crunchy like tendon and not flavored, and makes for an interesting topping when you want something different.
TLeaf – White Pearls
(Location: San Jose, CA)
How’s it different?
This is the same thing as Jastea’s crystal boba.
