A Day In Focus
Dedication to yourself is a thoughtful process:
Water deeply to reach the roots of you,
Buried thick and starving for care.
The boxes of the past are heavy kindle:
Bathe in the warmth of the fire you set,
Coals and ash light the path at your feet.
Level with the earth the possibilities stretch:
Perceive dazzling nebulas just out of focus,
You are so small but not unimportant.
Heaven swirls about you at its soft pace:
Breath deep and let the fog curl in,
Do not try to force the winds to warm.
Clarity rolls in when control is forgotten:
Walk along the silver waves of consistency,
Let the pebbles take the weight of your pain.
Rich is the smell of decay leading to growth:
Drag your fingers through the edge of remorse,
Then go home as someone wholly new.
