the omz mask doesnt actually cause someone to lose their memories. its svens memory-wipe cannon that we see at the end of the train escape thats doing all the memory erasing.

my logic is that the only two times we seen ken without their memory is while theyre captured. first, in death is the cure, we seen ken without their memory at ALL. she does not know Anything. the second time we see ken without his memory is when he loses it at the end of the train escape to svens memory-wipe cannon. and then theyre back to that empty blank slate who knows nothing.

now, why would this happen? well, if someone trying to imprison ken (because they killed a hundred thousand people), then... well, its mentioned in death is the cure how kens already broken out of every prison that theyve tried to contain her in. its impossible to imprison ken as long as a) they dont want to stay in there, b) they have their memories. so naturally, they wipe them. as a last-ditch attempt. and then... then he cant get out even of a simple jail cell.

actually i think ken lost the omz mask a long while before death is the cure. death is the cure isnt immediately post-ken losing the mask like one would assume. i think he got captured, lost the mask SOMEHOW, and then proceeds to escape out of every prison they try to put him in. so yeah, the memory wipe is a last-ditch attempt out of experience that ken is always going to escape as long as she Remembers.

hell, even look at omz at the end of the hopper escape video. he hasnt forgotten anything. he thanks ken for breaking the curse. hes not confused about what happened. he fully remembers everything that happened while he was under the masks control.
