This wasn’t normal, that’s for sure. Even for Futaba this wasn’t normal. If this was Futaba’s normal she’d be in her thief suit, and the thing approaching her would be a Shadow that the rest of the Phantom Thieves would take care of with her assistance. But even if it was normal there would still be one constant. Futaba, whether she was Futaba or Oracle, was defenseless when nobody was around. So she did the logical thing.

          When he had first heard that Freakshow was at it again, Danny’s initial reaction was to throw his head back and let out a groan of exhaustion. He couldn’t believe that that guy still had more tricks up his sleeve, although he really should have expected this sort of relentless scheming from someone with such a sick obsession as his. What was the saying? Same circus, different clowns? Please. Danny was sure he could take care of this nuisance by sunrise. There was no way Freakydeaky could have come up with anything more menacing than the Reality Gauntlet, anyway. If he thought he could make a comeback after a defeat that devastating, then it was quite possible his own hubris would bring him down before Danny did.

          So the ghost boy made his way to where Freakshow’s new, re-branded traveling circus had set up shop. His first impression that was it looked nothing like it had before. Good-bye gothica, hello science fiction. One of the most jarring differences from his old framework was that it looked like Freakshow wasn’t the only ringleader pulling the strings. There were two names etched on the caravan -- he must have somehow found a partner who was as twisted as he was . . . the idea made Danny a little less confident in his attack strategy.

          Alright, with this new development there was no question that Danny needed to call for back-up. He was just about to be on his way to sneak off the premises when he turned to face some creature, the looks of which stopped him in his tracks.

He's already hovering one hand over the watch, ready to go Diamondhead, or Lodestar, if need be. “Purple RAT?” Asked Nack in a mocking tone, the ancient artifact still in his hand as the museum alarms wailed out without reprieve. Shaking his head, the purple rat in question could only coo, “let’s consider my options, mate! I could surrender now an’ go t’jail fer a LOOOOONG time, OR I could take my chances, beat’cha ass int’ a bloody fine pulp, skedaddle my way aaaalllll th’ way back home, an’ even tell my boys ALL about th’ little hero who COULDN’T!”

He tipped his hat. He twirled his revolvers. He looked Ben right in the eyes, shook his head as if this was but another evening for him, and added the finishing touch to his statement with another boast about as powerful as the family name he derived from.

          ...they’re not paying attention to her.

          her movements falter a little, but she finishes the magic first before looking out at the audience properly. since she’s standing on a stage, she does have a pretty good view of the crowd. there’s someone near the center that seems to be the source of the issue. yumeno puffs out her cheeks, annoyed by the behavior of the crowd.

          but while she’s not a genius, yumeno can have plans sometimes. not great ones, of course, but they tend to work. if that person is gonna take the crowd’s eyes off her, may as well make them useful for the performance. she raises her voice to carry over the hubbub.

    “but for my next feat... i’ll need a member from the audience.“

          her wand slips into her hand as she points at the source of the commotion, accentuating the movement.

    “and you, in the green— you’ve been chosen to partake.“

Ann knew she was being ridiculous --- you hysterical, deranged little good-for-nothing --- but she could not help but feel uneasy here, as if the city had sprouted eyes that were observing her, as if she only had to pause her pacing for a moment to feel the slick, gag-inducing sensation of mucus beneath her feet and the tickling of lashes against her shin.

Perhaps it was just her. Perhaps it was the foreignness of it all. Perhaps the buildings really were waiting to devour her, moving when her gaze shifted in a twisted game of confusion. But the heiress soon found herself approaching a boy, hoping the dread settled thick in her gut would disappear with their help, the mirth of their youth... 

Ann didn’t have the courage to face an adult’s cruelty (and at least teenagers had the decency to laugh when they were).

A Masked Stranger Asked: Whomst is the friend shaped?

Cue a deep inhale-

“Gary, Darwin, Archie, Jake, Mu, Rookie, Rosey, Jack, Rock, Ben and all his aliens, my new lil icy angel, Winnie, and-” She’s going to go on for a while naming everyone she’s allowed to say she’s met on her version of Club Penguin,  the surrounding universes and he people in a chatroom she frequents.

      “Wow, these are good!” Sure, Nagisa love food. She loved anything to do with food. But if it was something new, she was a bit hesitant. But only because of the fear that she wouldn’t like it! Lord forbid that ever happen, not to her at least! But this food item left a surprisingly good taste in her mouth! If ever offered to her again, she’d eat it in a heartbeat!
