Did I ever tell you about Dreamlings?

Also known as Omnidae, these equine beings are born out of the good dreams of both Abyssarians and Hieropolisians. We'll get to those two races at a later date.

Their sole purpose is to be helpful, but like fae folk, they're quite fickle to work with. Though good in nature, they're a playful, whimsical bunch, often pulling harmless tricks on each other or others. Unlike imps, however, they can choose to cooperate if they take a liking to the being that's requesting their aid. It's a way of telling if they're helping a good cause or not!

They materialize as eggs, and hatch into existence. As a Foal(newborn), they're very small and naive. Foal is also a rank, as even when they grow, they can remain a Foal - specifically if they do not pursue their duty. A Foal who takes on the mantle of their duty becomes a Yearling.

Once they complete their training in earnest, this rank evolves into Unicorn. One can tell their training is at an end when their Dream Ink appears, which is a mark that can appear anywhere on their body in any shape and form. Dream Ink is what allows them to use their magic, and wish granting abilities.

While spawning from the dreams of Abyssarian and Hieropolisian, they categorised as neither, and do not reside anywhere near their respective realms, but residing in their own pocket realm in between, which they lovingly call The Library.

Dreamlings are always unique, even if they're twins - one thing will always be different than the other. In rare cases, a Dreamling can even show mutations as having wings, or even rarer still, having both a horn and wings. This does not change their rank, as it's merely a physical mutation.

In extremely rare conditions, a Dreamling can ascend past the Unicorn rank and become "The Dreamer's Blessed", being bestowed a humanoid/anthropomorphic form by the Firstborn themself. More about the Firstborn at a later date.

A tiny fun fact, their birthdates are usually correlated with the Full Moon phases of each month, such as Waxing Strawberry Moon, Full Cold Moon, Waning Wolf Moon, etc.

And their Coat of Arms reads as "Ashotor Nimmana Omnidae", which roughly translates to "Night Mother Guide Us"
