NOT REALLY PLOTTED STARTER — @olympicfated .
Edward sighs as he s w i p e s his thumb on the screen of his phone, moving to his contacts before tapping Bella’s contact. The star still beside her name, marking her as a favorite. He frowns as his eyes turn back to the road, his foot still pressed f i r m l y on the gas as he sped, only slowing when he heard the thoughts of distant cops hidden on the side of the highway. He presses his phone to his year, waiting as it rings. This isn’t a call he was particularly eager to make, but it was one he needed to ... he also promised he’d make it. Edward leans his head back against the headrest. His brows f u r r o w slightly, for a moment d o u b t i n g she’d answer. Maybe Jacob had been wrong. She wasn’t worried he hated her, she hated him. He shifts his phone, ready to end the call before the line c l i c k s. Returning his phone to his ear he bites lightly on the inside of his cheek, searching for the right words for a few moments before he sighs quietly. ❛ Hey ... ❜ he finally greets, hating himself a little for the awkwardness in his own tone.

“ i’m - i’m SORRY . i’m sorry . i am so - so sorry . ”
&. @olympicfated prompted: “ I remember all of the things that I thought I wanted to be. ”
a soft puff of air drips from her lips in a sigh -- the temperature that only affected one of them ALLOWING them both to see it clearly. did she still not get it ? these thoughts of missed endeavors would only grow if she kept on with the ideal that this life she sought was better than the one she ALREADY had. it wasn’t that the blonde didn’t care for bella, in her own way -- she did, but she had lost her respect the more the YOUNG girl pushed to join the dead & give up what she held in the palm of her hands. rosalie would give ANYTHING for a second chance at a normal life -- at the ability to grow old with emmett & be surrounded by their children as the years showed upon the lines in their faces. ❝ you could still be any of those things, bella. ❞ there is a lack of her usual bite that clings to her words, free of the harshness despite the WEIGHT behind what she was voicing. ❝ you have an entire life filled with possibilities & you’re wasting it. ❞ for what ? edward ? the ability to watch decades come & go & history REPEAT itself in the most horrendous of ways ? was her heart so chained to his that she couldn’t see past tomorrow ? ❝ you're in such a rush but you’ve barely lived. ❞ envy colored her tone despite the best intention to keep it sealed in the CAGE within her chest -- everyone was so for this choice & she couldn’t quite figure out why that was.

❛ You don’t know what you’re getting yourselves into. ❜
HE’D HAD TIME TO THINK ABOUT IT, taking a couple days to really contemplate the situation and come to a decision. The fact that Seth took that time was an abnormality in itself - as soon as Jacob did something, he had almost always been right there behind him. Packing up his things and moving with the Cullens, though? Living away from his family, from his sister, for who knew how long? That was his biggest concern, and what had kept him up for the past two nights in a row.
He wouldn’t age as long as he was with them, and he knew that his mom would, and there was a good chance that Leah would, too. Was he really ready to leave them behind? Come back every so often, and then not at all? He stood outside the familiar house in the woods for a few minutes, glance sweeping from the Cullen’s house ( or, soon-to-be former house ) and the highway. That was it, his last chance to think things through. He rocked on the balls of his feet, feeling his heart rate start to pick up.
No, he thought, forcing his muscles to still. He’d made his decision. He wanted to stay with Jacob, and with the people that helped to save him. Seth had called them a two-man pack before, and he still meant that. He’d been Jacob’s shadow ever since he was a little kid, and that wasn’t going to change. His large, red duffel bag was slung over his shoulder, stuffed with whatever he could fit inside of it.
Before he could even knock on the door, he heard it open. Bella’s face greeted him, and she’d beaten him to speaking first. His eyebrows furrowed together, head instantly shaking in disagreement. ❝ I do, ❞ he started, voice solid and unwavering. ❝ I wanna come, Jake said that you guys could need help up there in... ❞ he trailed off, glancing back down at her.
❝ -well, wherever we’re going. The point is... me and him are a package deal, I made a promise to stick with him. ❞ A small smile replaced his serious expression, stance loosening slightly. ❝ I can’t break it, Bella. We pinky promised and everything. ❞

@olympicfated liked for a plotted starter !
❛ I mean ... we could ... ❜ she replies, lips pursed slightly as she turns over the idea in her mind. She glances at the girl who s l o u c h e s beside her on the bed, brows raised in silent question. This was hardly one of her better ideas, but it was far from her worst. After all, this one didn’t put them in any danger other than in danger of maybe wasting some time ... and maybe the risk of some lite vomiting en route. The pair had been out until around five hours earlier, so it was probably a safe bet that one of them would struggle a bit on the two and a half to three hour drive ... but in this state, Peyton would probably kill for a breakfast burrito. It was a risk she was willing to take, and as she looks to her friend she h o p e s she feels the same way.
Peyton stretches her arms over her head before sitting up straighter and turning to face Bella more f u l l y. She tilts her chin down slightly, her tone turning persuasive as she asks, ❛ Can you imagine ANYTHING better than breakfast from Offbeat ? ❜ Kicking of the blankets from over her legs she scoots over so she sits directly in front of her friend, shifting so she’s kneeling on the bed. Her t i r e d eyes are now bright with the possibility of satisfying her sudden, but strong craving for something spicy and greasy. With a final plead in her voice she adds, ❛ I’ll drive? ❜

❛ Order up, ❜ he says, poking his head into the living room, almost expecting to see an unwelcome teen beside his daughter on the couch. Well, unwelcome for now. Edward had already been over once since they’d gotten back to Forks, and Charlie had tried to i m p l y he shouldn’t plan on coming back without an invitation. There was still some acidity in his thoughts in regards Edward, and he wasn’t going to ignore his instincts. Regardless of what Bella said, her boyfriend was ultimately the reason she was upset enough to run out into the night to drive back to Phoenix. To leave Forks, and not look back. Her words still r i n g in his mind from that night, and it takes effort to keep the thought from bringing a frown to his face. Nevertheless, he walks into the room, relaxing slightly when he knew they were alone. In hand he is a large bowl of broccoli cheddar soup, placed on a plate with several slices of sourdough bread. The bread is l a y e r e d carefully, his attempt to set up this surely to be uncomfortable conversation to be as easy as possible.
Based on their last conversation before Phoenix, he hadn’t been sure that she would have wanted to come home. When Reneé had told him their daughter declared she wanted to go back to Forks, he’d been surprised. Happy ... but surprised. His unease subsides slightly at the w a r m t h in his chest, knowing his daughter had decided that Forks could be her home too. Whatever other issues they had to address moving forward, they’d be able to figure it out. Because he wants her to be happy here, and now she truly wants to be here.
Charlie allows Bella to prepare for the dish before helping situate it on her lap before circling the table to take a seat in his armchair. His mind searches for a way to segue into what he wanted to say, what he needed to say. But words had never come particularly easy to him, and this conversation was b o u n d to be unpleasant for both of them. ❛ Don’t worry, I didn’t make it. Just picked it up from Carver’s, ❜ he finally says as he settles into the own chair.
