When homesickness struck, which more often than Jaime would admit, he found himself draw to the shores of Wrightsville Beach. With the weather beginning to warm, finally hitting the 70s in a surprise bout of warmth, and a fresh smoothie in hand from The Workshop, Jaime dug his toes in the sand from where he sat on a quiet stretch of the public beach closest the pier. It wasnât crowded yet, most people still doubting the wind chill that would come off the water, but he embraced it
It smelled like home, and comfort was something he needed at the moment.Â
The day before, Jaimeâs penchant for making mistakes had put him in a terrifying position opposite a man with rage that rivaled his own. Now, still feeling the physical and mental after-effects of the duel, Jaime was quietly settled on the beach, debating how much Wilmington was a place he found worth staying for.Â
âI know what youâre gonna say,â He spoke up before she could, a semi-familiar blonde appearing within his line of sight. Jaimeâs time at the beach had gotten him comfortable with the residents of Wrightsville, especially those willing to talk with him when he struck up a conversation. Olivia was one of them, and he could already guess sheâd have something to say about his bruised nose and jaw. âAnd yes, Iâm aware I look better than ever, thanks.âÂ
