Since we last saw our resident foul mouthed anti hero, nothing’s really changed. Deadpool’s gotten less mature and more bratty, and Oliver Spade’s gotten more self deprecating and insecure. And as of late, Oliver’s spent more and more time in the Deadpool suit. He’d much rather be Deadpool than Oliver Spade, and if he could be in the suit 24/7, he would be.
Oliver feels more like himself when he’s in the suit. In fact, people on the street have been becoming very familiar with the red suited anti hero, and he’s become quite friendly with the people who live in the area. For once he feels like he did back in high school. He was confident in himself, outgoing, and even more sarcastic and quick witted. Deadpool was the ultimate distraction from himself, and boy did he need one.
The Deadpool suit was nothing more than a security blanket. Underneath it all was a scared and scarred little kid who didn’t understand why any of this had to happen to him. He had been through so much in his life at the hands of his father, the cancer and Ajax; the disfiguring scars covering his entire body seemed like a cruel and unusual punishment for living an already incredibly shitty life.
The only light in Oliver Spade’s life was his husband and their son, but lately not even that seemed like a good thing. Josh was getting older and that meant he’d be starting school. And with Wally working for his parents during the day, and working with them and the Avengers due to his shiny new promotion, that meant Oliver would be alone more often than not. Â
He was not good when he left alone. That was when the insecurities crept in and he felt like the young kid who was dying of cancer again. Â
There was never a day that went by that Oliver didn’t think about all the times and ways he was going to disappoint his son and his husband. With Josh starting school, and being just as smart as his papa, Oliver knew there would be countless parent teacher nights missed, science fairs skipped, and awards presentations “forgotten” about. And as much as he knew it would hurt Josh not having his dad there, Oliver knew it would be so much worse for him if he did show his ugly face in public around him. He could only hope Josh wouldn’t mind having Deadpool crash any future science fairs because that was a better option than having everyone stare at them and not want to be friends with Josh because his dad looked like something that belonged in a freak show. The burned firefighter story Oliver had come up with over the years didn’t help either because then everyone pitied them and that wasn’t what Oliver wanted.
Oliver truly felt like he was losing control of his life again, and Deadpool allowed him to regain that. So when Wally told him that he finally got the title of an official Avenger, Oliver told him it was fan-fucking-tastic and immediately suited up and went to Sister Margaret’s looking for a hit. He had promised Wally he would give up his mercenary career, but that was a lie. Whenever things got slow around the city, he was always looking for a little excitement. And sometimes when he needed a little stress relief you could also find him at the hellhouse. It was home away from home. And since his husband and partner left him high and dry for the sausage party that is the Avengers, Oliver decided he was going to take some time for himself and a secret project.
So with all the new time he’s spending alone, Oliver has been searching for Ajax. He’s been hunting the asshat who turned him into this monster for years, but he feels like he’s really getting close now with all the extra time he’s had to search, and Oliver can’t wait to kill him for everything he’s done to him.
Connections
Wally Spade/Spiderman: his husband and former partner. Oliver’s taken Wally’s Avenger promotion very badly and to heart. He feels like he’s being left behind and tossed aside. He knew Wally didn’t always approve of his methods, but he never thought he’d lose his partner in crime. So Oliver’s been throwing a big ass tantrum for weeks now which includes, but is not limited to, starting his mercenary career again, doing things on his own and giving Wally shit like “Oh you actually wanted to go with me?” whenever his husband asked why he went off alone, stealing a set of webshooters to scale the side of Avengers tower to eavesdrop on meetings so he can crash fights, breaking into the building to make ungodly amounts of pancakes and replacing all the heroes beds with them, and while he was there, moving every piece of furniture about five inches to the right so hopefully everyone would walk into something.

Superhero Event: Bad Ass, Smart Ass, Married to the One with the Best Ass
You're probably thinking "This is a superhero movie, but that guy in the suit just turned that other guy into a fucking kebab." Surprise, this is a different kind of superhero story.
Oliver Spade was the quarterback of his high school’s football team and the most popular guy school.  He was a bit of an asshole, but what jock wasn’t?  Looking at him, you’d never expect that his life was far from perfect.  Oliver’s mom died of cancer when he was young and his father was physically abusive.  He doesn’t even remember his mom, and because of the abuse he suffered at the hands of his father, Oliver did everything he possibly could in his teenage years to spite his father; most notably football, almost dropping out of high school and getting married.  Football got him out of the house, and if he was going to get hit, it might as well be on the field.  His father expected perfection, something Oliver most definitely was not when it came to academics, and the ultimate blow to his father’s ego would be completely giving up on school and dropping out, and he was about to, until something... well someone, stopped him.Â
It was his sophomore year, he had just recently decided that at the end of that year he was done with everything, when it all changed.  Oliver was on his way to an impromptu midday football practice with a couple of his friends when someone half his size walked into him and his books went flying.  Oliver knew pretty much everyone at the school, but the poor kid who walked into him was obviously new, since Oliver didn’t recognize him, and he would’ve recognized this kid if he had seen him around.  The kid, who Oliver lovingly dubbed baby boy, since he didn’t know his name, wanted absolutely nothing to do with him, even though Oliver was nothing but nice to him: offering to walk him to class, picking up his books and even flirting with him.  But nothing worked, much to Oliver’s disappointment since he was already smitten.  It wasn’t until a hour later when Oliver’s friends started laughing and making fun of him for being nice to the nerdy Axiom boy that he realized that Wally was the football team’s favorite victim.  That was his least favorite thing about the team, they were a bunch of dicks who enjoyed making others miserable, but after everything Oliver had been through, he was never the type to participate in the team’s bullying, but the fact that they especially enjoyed tormenting the boy he was falling for, really didn’t sit well with him, so he distanced himself from his teammates, not caring if they hated him for liking the nerdy Axiom boy.
Every day for a month Oliver tried his damnedest to get Wally to like him, and after a month, Oliver finally got what he wanted. Â Wally finally gave in and went out on a date with him. Â Flash forward two and a half years: Oliver was still the quarterback, Wally and Oliver were still together, Oliver was still in school and actually not failing thanks to his tutor who knew exactly how to motivate him. Â Their futures were planned, and all that was left was for Oliver to pop the question; which he did behind the bleachers moments before his last football game, and they married not too long after he graduated. Â Their lives were set; Oliver would start playing college football in the fall, Wally had his dream internship at Oscorp and they were going to eventually start a family... But everything that goes up must come down.
Their perfect life came crashing down when they found out Oliver had stage four cancer in his liver, lungs, prostate, and brain.  Wally was determined to save him but Oliver had accepted that his fate was sealed and there was nothing they could do but enjoy their last few months together.  There were good and bad days, and really bad days.  The very bad and the good days were the ones he’d make Wally stay home or come home early so he could either say goodbye or enjoy a normal day with his husband because neither of them knew how many of those days they had left, or how many days they had in general.
And although Wally remained by his side, Oliver didn’t want his husband to watch him die.  They promised each other in sickness or in health until death did them part, but Oliver didn’t want to leave his husband with the pain of losing him for the rest of his hopefully long life.  One day that he wasn’t completely miserable, Oliver went to a bar to pass the time while Wally was at work.  There, a mysterious recruiter from a secret program approached him, offering him an experimental cure for his cancer.  Although Oliver refused at first, he ultimately made the heartbreaking decision to leave his husband and undergo the procedure, all without telling Wally a word about any of it, because he knew his husband would try to stop him.  It might have been complete bullshit, but it was a chance to extend his life and he was going to risk it.  What was the worst that could happen?  He’d die?  That would happen with or without the long shot cure.  At a sketchy laboratory, Oliver met Ajax who injected him with a serum designed to awaken latent mutant genes and then subjected him to days of torture to induce stress and trigger the mutation, which developed into a healing ability that cured his cancer, allowed him to regenerate and enhanced all his natural abilities, but left him scarred.
Since he ended up surviving the ordeal, Oliver planned to return to Wally to restart their lives, but he was afraid of his husband suffering because of his appearance and he didn’t know if Wally would have even wanted him back after he just up and left him one day; so Oliver stayed away and began his mercenary career to keep himself busy and distracted.  Naming himself Deadpool, Oliver accepted assassination jobs only against those who he felt deserved to die. Hoping to one day cross paths again with the man who left him with a fate worse than death: being completely alone and probably having his husband hate him.
But instead of crossing paths with Ajax, Oliver found himself crossing paths with Spiderman.  Turns out they were going after the same guy, and Spiderman got in the way just as Oliver was about to kill the asshole, which he wasn’t too happy about, but there was something about the masked man that seemed familiar.  It might have been months since he last saw his husband, and he might not have been able to see the man’s face, but he’d know his husband’s voice, and his especially his ass, anywhere.  Following Spiderman home, Oliver found his suspicions to be true.  Spiderman was actually Wally Spade, and Oliver had found his in to getting his husband back. Â
Some might call it stalking, but Oliver was determined to wiggle his way back into Wally’s life, so he would follow Spiderman around for months, always showing up midfight to help him out, and casually flirt with him.  Oliver could tell at first that Wally pretty much hated him, Oliver’s reputation as a heartless mercenary preceded him, but if he could make Wally fall in love with his asshole self once, he could do it again.  It took longer this time, but after months of flirting and being partners, Oliver could tell Wally was starting to fall for Deadpool; something he used to his advantage to find out how Wally truly felt about his long lost husband.  When he finally got Wally to open up to him one night after breaking into their apartment and cuddling him, Oliver was going to take the mask off for the big reveal but then there was a scream and they had to spring into action.  The big reveal didn’t have to wait that much longer though since in that very fight Oliver was unmasked and Wally got his first look at his scarred husband in a year.
Oliver didn’t know how Wally didn’t catch on earlier, considering he almost slipped up countless times and used all the same pet names he used to.  Wally’s reaction was pretty much what Oliver expected; his husband hated him for leaving without a word and putting him through hell.  But before long they were both in tears, clinging tight to the other as Oliver promised to never leave Wally’s sight ever again.  Thankfully having Wally fall for Deadpool helped a lot when it came to rebuilding their relationship.  It didn’t take long before they were back to where they were Oliver got sick.  Keeping true to their new promise together, they never left each other’s sights and continued to fight crime together since they made the best team.  Oliver would argue they were better than the Avengers, but their precious egos couldn’t handle that.  And not too long after they got back together, they finally got the family they had always wanted when they welcomed baby Spideypool into their lives, well Joshua as Wally preferred to call him. Â
Ever since Oliver got his powers though, he’s been a little off.  Sometimes when crime was slow, he found himself slipping into his old mentality thinking that there was so much wrong with him and that he was going to die.  More than once Wally had walked in on him trying to saw his hand off; his only excuse, “it’s quieter than shooting myself in the chest and I need to remind myself I’m not dying.”  Watching his hand slowly grow back was enough to keep him in a good state of mind until the next bad guy came out of the shadows.  But ever since Wally got a job at Walt, Oliver has had all the distractions he needed to keep himself from sawing various body parts off, and he gets to annoy his husband at the same time.  Wally needs a reminder to get the stick out of his perfect ass every once in a while, and these super newbies need to know that there are multiple ways to get things done, the right way, and the fun way.
