ORIGINAL MONSTER OF A BIO
Since we last saw our resident foul mouthed anti hero, nothingâs really changed. Deadpoolâs gotten less mature and more bratty, and Oliver Spadeâs gotten more self deprecating and insecure. And as of late, Oliverâs spent more and more time in the Deadpool suit. Heâd much rather be Deadpool than Oliver Spade, and if he could be in the suit 24/7, he would be.
Oliver feels more like himself when heâs in the suit. In fact, people on the street have been becoming very familiar with the red suited anti hero, and heâs become quite friendly with the people who live in the area. For once he feels like he did back in high school. He was confident in himself, outgoing, and even more sarcastic and quick witted. Deadpool was the ultimate distraction from himself, and boy did he need one.
The Deadpool suit was nothing more than a security blanket. Underneath it all was a scared and scarred little kid who didnât understand why any of this had to happen to him. He had been through so much in his life at the hands of his father, the cancer and Ajax; the disfiguring scars covering his entire body seemed like a cruel and unusual punishment for living an already incredibly shitty life.
The only light in Oliver Spadeâs life was his husband and their son, but lately not even that seemed like a good thing. Josh was getting older and that meant heâd be starting school. And with Wally working for his parents during the day, and working with them and the Avengers due to his shiny new promotion, that meant Oliver would be alone more often than not. Â
He was not good when he left alone. That was when the insecurities crept in and he felt like the young kid who was dying of cancer again. Â
There was never a day that went by that Oliver didnât think about all the times and ways he was going to disappoint his son and his husband. With Josh starting school, and being just as smart as his papa, Oliver knew there would be countless parent teacher nights missed, science fairs skipped, and awards presentations âforgottenâ about. And as much as he knew it would hurt Josh not having his dad there, Oliver knew it would be so much worse for him if he did show his ugly face in public around him. He could only hope Josh wouldnât mind having Deadpool crash any future science fairs because that was a better option than having everyone stare at them and not want to be friends with Josh because his dad looked like something that belonged in a freak show. The burned firefighter story Oliver had come up with over the years didnât help either because then everyone pitied them and that wasnât what Oliver wanted.
Oliver truly felt like he was losing control of his life again, and Deadpool allowed him to regain that. So when Wally told him that he finally got the title of an official Avenger, Oliver told him it was fan-fucking-tastic and immediately suited up and went to Sister Margaretâs looking for a hit. He had promised Wally he would give up his mercenary career, but that was a lie. Whenever things got slow around the city, he was always looking for a little excitement. And sometimes when he needed a little stress relief you could also find him at the hellhouse. It was home away from home. And since his husband and partner left him high and dry for the sausage party that is the Avengers, Oliver decided he was going to take some time for himself and a secret project.
So with all the new time heâs spending alone, Oliver has been searching for Ajax. Heâs been hunting the asshat who turned him into this monster for years, but he feels like heâs really getting close now with all the extra time heâs had to search, and Oliver canât wait to kill him for everything heâs done to him.
Wally Spade/Spiderman: his husband and former partner. Oliverâs taken Wallyâs Avenger promotion very badly and to heart. He feels like heâs being left behind and tossed aside. He knew Wally didnât always approve of his methods, but he never thought heâd lose his partner in crime. So Oliverâs been throwing a big ass tantrum for weeks now which includes, but is not limited to, starting his mercenary career again, doing things on his own and giving Wally shit like âOh you actually wanted to go with me?â whenever his husband asked why he went off alone, stealing a set of webshooters to scale the side of Avengers tower to eavesdrop on meetings so he can crash fights, breaking into the building to make ungodly amounts of pancakes and replacing all the heroes beds with them, and while he was there, moving every piece of furniture about five inches to the right so hopefully everyone would walk into something.
