S7 Airlines, widely known today in Russia, began its history in 1957 as "Tolmachevo United Squadron" of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of the Soviet Union. After the collapse of the USSR, the state airline Siberia was established in Russia on the basis of this squadron in 1992. After privatization in May 1994, the company was transformed into a joint-stock company "Siberia Airlines", and in 2005 it was renamed as S7 Airlines. The Antonov An-24 is a 44-seat twin turboprop transport/passenger aircraft designed in 1957 in the Soviet Union by the Antonov Design Bureau and manufactured by Kyiv, Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude Aviation Factories.

Aeroflot – Soviet Airlines in the Soviet era was the national Soviet airline, consisting of many aviation enterprises, and the largest airline in the world. Founded in 1923, it is one of the oldest airlines in the history of aviation. Outside of the Soviet Union, Aeroflot acted as a single airline. Il-18 aircraft, registration USSR-75845, operated in the 9th and 10th Soviet Antarctic Expeditions. For this purpose, in August 1963, it was converted into an IL-18V-26A long-distance flight aircraft. Modification had an additional fuel tank, which allowed taking more fuel, the cabin was converted to 20 comfortable seats, and the cockpit received additional aero navigation devices. These changes in the design of the aircraft to fly over a distance of more than 6000 kilometers. In the period from 1963 to 1966, the aircraft was operated by the Polar Aviation Administration.
