I don’t know you but I love you! Hope we get to...
That would be neat if we meet tomorrow! And you are certainly welcome to the jello shots haha. I think I have like 80-90 shots so we’ll need some takers!

My apologies if this is too personal a question and feel free to just ignore me if you’re not comfortable answering, but I wondered if you had experience with some of the themes in the story.Â
I’m trying to find the least invasive way to ask about this, but you write about some very powerful themes with care and emotion and if that comes from experience, I can’t even imagine what it would take to play that out on the page (so to speak). I guess the moral of the story isn’t to know your personal business, but for me to say that I was very impressed with how you handled the topics and themes you touch on here. And I mean beyond just the addiction/alcoholism. You write the realities of an adult, committed relationship and forgiveness and self-doubt (to name a few) very well and I just wanted to compliment on you that.Â
I’m super late to the party today, so my apologies if I’m rehashing.Â
One of the things I wanted to say earlier today when I had a moment to read but not to post was that I never felt like Louis was really grieving after the initial meeting and I feel like the most recent answers from @ bourgeolouis sort of reaffirm that.Â
IMO, the soulmate thing isn’t this like a huge big deal to Louis. Maybe that’s a product of his maybe being a little older when he finds Harry. There’s mention of him being younger thinking about what it would be like to meet his soulmate, but much like some girls have fake weddings and know what their wedding dress will look like while others never did, I think Louis views the whole soulmate thing in the abstract and also in a very “it is what it is” way. As a guy who wants to control his own fate, I’m interested in how he deals with the idea of soulmates and having someone chosen for you. IMO, he has a laissez faire attitude toward it -A sort of “I can’t do anything about it, so I’m not going to dwell on it until it happens.”
I can’t think of a better word than nonchalance, so that’s what I’m using, but there’s a bit of nonchalance about Louis in the initial meeting. It’s “oh shit, it’s you” and then he’s on talking about cupcakes and his sisters. It’s like a minor blip in his day.Â
I think that Louis has a very pragmatic outlook on the whole thing, so while it’s important, it’s also not the be all, end all. While Harry was harsh, I don’t imagine Louis walked out of there thinking that their story was over and there was nothing more to say or do. Since he knew that the relationship, however it played out, would take work, it wasn’t done for him with “we’re not getting together.”Â
