So earlier this spring we took a day trip to Selma NC to go Trainspotting. While there we walked the historical section and of course I had to visit the antique stores :) In one we found an old wooden toolbox. It had an old lock on it but no key. So I researched the old lock and then found one for sale with the key. I took the numbers off that key and actually found someone selling the key alone! Got it about a week later.

Recently someone in our neighborhood passed so they’ve been cleaning out her house. I see a new pile of her belongings on the side of the road for the trash company each week :(

Yesterday I was walking by and there on the ground was a rusty collection of old keys in the middle of the road that probably came from these trash piles. I’ve always had a thing for keys even when I was little so I picked em up thinking we could hang them in the old feed n grain. When I got home I looked more closely and was like “NO WAY” and ran and got the lock. Sure enough, the key (well another) to that lock was among that collection. Now I have a spare!

But isn’t that kinda wild?
