Hey, sorry, I wasn't on my computer when you messaged. To keep a mouse or rat warm I would suggest providing lots of bedding, as well as a hiding place like an empty coffee canister or some other recyclable item, lined with fabric that you don't care much about (or even more bedding would help). Make sure the entrance to this faces away from any drafts, windows, etc.
You can also, in moderation, use a heating pad as long as it is underneath towels and the cord is hidden from them. Set it on low. I wouldn't suggest using hot water bottles or rice bags because they'll want to chew them and then disaster strikes.
