In a Starr Hill Brewery first, we partied with friends from around Charlottesville and beyond for an incredible Oktoberfest event at the Tap Room – and man, what a great time!
The brewery transformed into a true Beer Hall complete with long tables and mug brimming with some special releases of our German-style beers, including the return of Festie Oktoberfest Lager, Smoke Out Rauchbier and the new Helles Bock.
In an epic culinary throwdown, a trio of local chefs competed for top Oktoberfest dish using locally sourced pork products from The Rock Barn, including Brookville Restaurant‘s Chef Harrison Keevil with a traditional Bavarian Bratwurst and Kardinal Beer Hall‘s Chef Thomas Leroy with Kardinal Kuriwurst. Congratulations to Chef Curtis Shaver of Hamiltons' at First & Main / Sandwich Lab for winning with their delicious Cider Brat & pretzel spaetzle!
Basically Blue and Jon Spear Band both kicked out the jams with some searing, funky blues tunes.
