The family-run Okonjima Lodge is nestled at the foot of the Omboroko Sandstone Mountains amidst acacia thorn fields in a malaria-free area. It is midway between Namibia's capital, Windhoek, and Etosha National Park - just a two and a half hour drive or a short flight to the reserve's private airstrip.
The Okonjima Nature Reserve is also famous for the frequent sightings of leopard, brown hyena and pangolin on its safaris, as well as for the AfriCat Foundation. Since its establishment in 1991, the AfriCat Foundation has made it its mission to make a significant contribution to nature conservation and to ensure the survival of Namibian carnivores in their natural habitat.Â

Die familiengeführte Okonjima Lodge liegt am Fuße des Omboroko-Sandsteingebirges inmitten von Akaziendornfeldern in einem malariafreien Gebiet. Sie liegt auf halbem Weg zwischen Namibias Hauptstadt Windhoek und dem Etoscha-Nationalpark - nur zweieinhalb Stunden Fahrt oder ein kurzer Flug zur privaten Landebahn des Reservats.Â
Das Okonjima-Naturreservat ist ebenso berühmt für die häufigen Sichtungen von Leoparden, braunen Hyänen und Schuppentieren auf seinen Safaris wie auch für die AfriCat Foundation. Seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1991 hat es sich die AfriCat Foundation zur Aufgabe gemacht, einen bedeutenden Beitrag zum Naturschutz zu leisten und das Ãœberleben der namibischen Raubtiere in ihrem natürlichen Lebensraum zu sichern.Â

It was completely worth the cost to go on the evening leopard tracking drive as we found Electra dozing off in a tree, which provided the best catch watching experience. You can take your lions and cheetah, but I'm in love with leopards.
