AU where john left dean and sam at missouri’s and they grew up in a community of psychics and witches and have a much more relaxed view of the supernatural as a result and sam does nerdy rune-based spellwork w/ protective talismans and sigils and things like that (and he’s the one with arms full of magic tattoos) and meanwhile dean pretends not to be a witch because their dad HEAVILY disapproves but he super super does cooking magic only if you call it that or if you call what he does “brewing potions” he will flip out (“you have a cauldron, dean.” “it’s an HEIRLOOM cast iron STEW POT, sam.”) and when everything starts going down and castiel shows up he and dean don’t get along at first because castiel can’t EAT which is how dean COMMUNICATES WITH PEOPLE. IT’S THIS OR POP CULTURE. HELLO. and castiel is like... you people are witches... witches are bad... enemies to lovers 200k slow burn yes/yes.
